((Sorry for the wait))
Keiiji slipped away from the edge, his paws back on the pastry. He felt some amusement and amused annoyance from Alyssa's enthusiasm. Though didn't show it. He used a finger to pull down the cloth of fabric around his mouth, now hanging around his neck like a scarf. Dipping three of his fingers into the vanilla cream, he allowed himself to have a taste, before placing the fabric back up and over his mouth. "One pastry headed your way." He spoke stoically. Then tossed it over the side. Keiiji did peek his head back over the side, to see where it had landed.

All at once a vanilla pastry came falling down and hit Alyssa square on the nose before landing on the floor. "Hey!" she started to protest, then paused as she licked off some of the vanilla frosting that had gotten smeared on her face. "Ohhh, boy," she giggled, "that's amazing too!" She started to grab at the pastry, then glanced at Charla. "Oh hey, vanilla's your favorite, right? Have it!" She called up to Keiiji, "Let's take some of those with us too!" This whole raiding-the-bakery thing was simply wonderful. They must do it more often! And how about other restaurants? The possibilities were endless.

She had to stifle a small snort as the pastry hit Alyssa, the other queen's expression was incredibly funny. However the surprise registered on her face as Alyssa left the first vanilla pastry for her. The queen smiled and grabbed the pastry, about to rip it in half similarly to how Alyssa had split the first cinnamon bun with her. "Thank you." Charla's focus was brought to Keiiji as Alyssa called up to him and paused, glancing between both cats. Humans may not always be the most observant, but she was sure they'd notice if too many baked goods went missing. They got quite nasty when angered. "We probably shouldn't take too much more, humans aren't entirely stupid."

The burnt orange tabby tom had turned around and had gathered a few of the pastries, and had begun lobbing them off the edge. His only warning was a straight faced, stoic: 'heads up'. He was having a little too much fun bombing them with vanilla pastries but one would never really know it. His brow quirked up at Charla's warnings. "True enough Charla. Most human establishments have things that can record...images." He paused, long enough to pop his head over the edge once again, to maintain eye contact with both of the queens below. "Rest easy, Charla, and Aly. I do a lot of business in the city. This is one place that doesn't have them up on the walls or ceiling. Rarely do humans come here during the night, so we've got the place to ourselves."
He did think over what else Charla had spoken. Humans weren't stupid, this was true. However, unless caught red-handed, he had noticed during his youth that humans seemed to think all mishaps were caused by their neighbors or their children. For whatever reason, blaming it on cats, dogs or rodents never seemed to cross their minds. It was an interesting conundrum, and perhaps a little insulting. His eyes were still staring at them. "At best, they'll think they miscounted their desserts, if they notice some missing. At worst, they'll blame the young humans cursing them as vandals and thieves." He fluidly jumped down in front of Alyssa, tilting his head as if contemplating the vanilla on her face, and in her mane. "I'm going to head over to the cakes and tarts section." His eyes drifted over to Charla. "Unless you believe we should leave soon?"

Alyssa was running around, giggling madly as she loaded her arms up with some of the pastries Keiiji threw (and got donked on the head by others). She barely even registered what Charla and Keiiji were saying, until the tom jumped down from the shelf and joined them. Then she stopped to listen. She heard their concerns about humans, and waved a frosting-covered paw dismissively. "We'll be fine, Char'," she mumbled around the piece of pastry in her mouth. She paused long enough to chew and swallow before continuing. "Keiiji's right. My humans used to talk all the time about how 'a bunch of no-good vandalizing kids destroyed a window last night,' or 'some thief broke in and stole a ham,' blah blah blah. Besides, so what if they do see us? They can't do anything, not if we get away fast enough!" Somehow, she felt like the strongest, fastest person in the world, who could outrun anything. It was probably all the sugar in her unaccustomed system. Her paws itched to get moving again and she waited somewhat impatiently for Charla to speak up and give her opinion on whether they should leave soon. Though, what if she did? She could leave if she wanted, and Aly and Keiiji could stay and load up on more sweets. At least, Aly hoped Keiiji didn't intend to leave just because their new comrade turned out to be a worrywart.

Charla had moved to a safer spot as the pastries started being lobbed down to them, preferring not to get icing in her fur. All the unpleasant stickiness and rather long lasting sweet smells. Although the sight of Alyssa's attempts to catch the falling pastries were amusing and brought a smile to her face. Which disappeared at the mention of machines that captured images. Her expression hardened slightly as both cats recounted their stories of humans who didn't ever think to blame the cats. Her own experiences with humans was quite different, usually it was the flip of a coin whether or not the cats would be blamed; and if it was a human who knew enough to blame cats for their deeds did so with violent means. Scurrying away from brooms and feet wasn't a rare occurrence. "Th-" Charla cut herself off quickly, knowing her tone was coming out incredibly harsh. It took effort on her part of suppress her knee jerk reaction of snark. She didn't need the brazen mask she usually took up, so she took a moment to take a breathe and relax her expression from the vaguely accusatory one she had previous. The whole process only took a moment or two and could easily be missed and instead shrugged, " If you say so, it is you two who have the experience with humans here.". Although she managed to bite her tongue on her opinion on if while carrying all their sweets they could out run a human. But Charla was working on making an effort to make London her home so she stepped to follow Keiiji.

Keiiji had spent years training himself to keep his facial features from showing any sort of emotion from his face, and was one of many of his skills that had kept him alive thus far. As a consequence, Keiiji developed a keen eye in observing every tiny little nuance that passed over the faces of everyone else. Sometimes they meant nothing, but he still noticed them and kept note of them. His eyes pierced at Charla, noticing such a small chance, before she had covered it up with nonchalance. His body moved fluidly, and without making a sound as he walked closer to Charla. His voice was low enough for words meant only for Charla. "Seems you have some experience with humans after all." With no emotion to his statement, it was difficult for anyone who didn't know him, to determine his true meaning behind it. But he moved passed Charla, and didn't mention anything further. Looking back at the two girls, Keiijj nodded to Alyssa. "Picked out whatever you want Aly." From his left, he grabbed one of the bag's. Wadding it in a ball, he tossed it to her. "Here's an extra bag if you find you and Charla need one." His tail swayed gently from side to side, not betraying his inner thoughts or emotions, either. "If it will put you both at ease, however. I will keep watch for any of the humans."

Alyssa grinned, liking the sound of all this. "Take it we're staying a while longer then, yeah?" Since her arms were full of various baked goods, she went ahead and put those into the bag Keiiji threw at her, then turned to look for more to gather. "Here," she said as an afterthought, passing the half-full bag to Charla, "if you wanna put some stuff in here, there's still room..." She wandered further down the aisle, having no idea what most of the things were. She could, however, read a little, and glanced at some of the labels. "Hmm...cho...co...late. Hey, Keiiji? Charla? Does chocolate sound tasty to you guys?" They'd been right about the other flavors so far, so they ought to know something, she figured.

It took most of her control for Charla to not vocally react to Keiiji's statement, even though his comment was devoid of emotion one way or another Charla knew that he was very observant. Which could easily be a double edged sword, one that in this case would be more likely to make her bleed. However there was no threat made at this point in time and he hadn't made any aggressive actions towards her. So while her normal defends of snark wanted to make a biting remark she held her tongue and took a calming breath instead. As a result of her efforts at not outwardly reacting to the toms words Charla missed the exchange between the other two cats until the bag was handed to her. Without much thought Charla tossed a couple cookies she was standing next to into the bag since so far only Alyssa and Keiiji had really contributed to finding sweets. " I've never had chocolate before Alyssa, humans seem to enjoy it quite a bit though.". She replied honestly, it was one if the sweets usually between protected and monitored by humans in her travels than other sweets that she had occasionally managed to get.

Keiiji's eyes shifted from left to right, and then when he reached the front of the store, he jumped up onto the counter. His eyes were trained on both of the girls, but realized neither one of them was in immediate danger. Truth was, he didn't know either one of them, not personally. But as Alyssa agreed to come with him and they picked up Charla on the way, he considered himself responsible for them; whether or not they could look after themselves was not the issue. Anyone could survive. He positioned himself against the cash register, able to see more of the outside, in case of any humans who might drop by. But he still had a good line of sight on the queens.
"Never tried it." Keiiji fibbed, old habits and everything. He found he could discuss past events, in the barest minimum of details. Though he tended to sound more like he was reciting statistics then memories. But divulging personal information, or his personal likes and dislikes? Keiiji had been molded to never reveal anything, if he could help it. "So Alyssa, what exactly are you planning on doing with all these sweets once we leave here?"

Alyssa shrugged as both the other cats denied ever having tasted chocolate. "Guess I'll try it then. No point taking it if it tastes like poo." She ripped open the package and sampled one of the goodies inside. "OOOOOOHHHHH!!!" she shrieked an instant later, running over to Charla, "we are SO taking these!" She stuffed the package into the grocery bag, then turned around at Keiiji's question of what she planned to do with the sweets. Seemed like a rather silly question to her. "Um...eat them?" Then she reddened, thinking - not of how greedy that sounded, but of how fat she would get if she ate all the sweets. She did not want to be fat. "I mean, share them among the folks, so we can all eat them," she amended. She did shoot Keiiji a somewhat uncertain look; how much should they talk about the Jellicles in front of Charla, whom they didn't really know?

Charla watched as Keiiji jumped up towards the cash register for a moment before refocusing on Alyssa and her treat scavenging. She flinched slightly at the volume of the other queen's shriek and tensed ready to bolt. Alyssa running towards her didn't help the matter either, at least until she exclaimed that once again there was something delicious. That allowed Charla to calm down and relax her tensed posture. Posture which perked up at the words 'folks', because other cats was exactly why she'd ventured to London. It was a good possibility that the two cats knew the tribe she was looking for. However it was also possible that they were opposed to the tribe and were simple ally cats. "Sharing, quite generous of you." She smiled before adding a dry comment, "Especially eating all these sweets would probably make you sick. Or so hyper you bounce off one too many walls." The queen used the bit of humour to mask the moment of hope.

Keiiji's caramel eyes were glued to the outside as he continued to keep a lookout. However aside from the odd cat or two and a few mice scurrying from garbage can to garbage can there wasn't a whole lot of commotion going on in the streets. Aside from it being so dark out. It was just one of those areas that almost seemed like a ghost town at night. Keiiji was distracted from his vantage point when he heard Alyssa's shriek. He immediately glanced to her, and relaxed that the new queen hadn't attacked her before once more looking out to the world beyond. He could decide whether to nod or shake his head at Alyssa's two answers, and decided on neither. "Most of the jellicles will be pleased, I'm sure." Though with everything that he had heard that had been happening in the tribe, he wasn't sure if they'd approve of him taking the young queen out into possible danger. His eyes did drift to Charla to gauge her reaction. The stories of both the jellicles and henches ran rampant on the streets, and it was the best way to figure out if Charla had any ties to the Henches; by mentioning the jellicles. Not that she'd be persecuted for it. Keiiji himself took the odd job or two from Macavity. But had no real loyalties to that tribe.

Alyssa relaxed considerably when Keiiji mentioned the Jellicles by name. After all, he was super-experienced with street cats and whatnot, right? If he didn't think it was dangerous to say anything about Jellicles in front of Charla, then Aly wasn't going to worry about it either. "Our friends are called Jellicles," she explained to Charla. "There's lots of 'em," she added for good measure, in case Charla should happen to turn out to have murderous intentions. "Lots of big strong leaders, too. Safety in numbers, that's us." She looked around. "Hm. Anything else we should take? We've got sweets coming out our ears already, but there's still millions more fantastic-smelling things, I hate to leave!"

Despite not wanting to give too much away, Charla couldn't help but perk up slightly at the Jellicles being mentioned by name. And especially not once she learned that the two were actuall part of the tribe. While the idea of big strong leaders for protection didn't sway her much either way, she'd survived this long not relying solely on the physical strength of others. Different strengths and means could be employed for different situations and outcomes. No, what excited her was that somehow the first cats she's stumbled upon in London were basically the cats she was looking for. However just as quickly as she perked up Charla calmed herself outwardly; silently cursing herself for probably giving too much away to Keiiji who'd been observent enough to catch the gist of her reaction to humans. "Must be rather large numbers, I hadn't expected to run into one for quite some time spent in the city.". She commented with a small smile and a vague wave to the outside of the shop at the mention of the city of London itself. Now would be possibly the hardest part, especially while so unprepared to find Jellicles. The delicate task of attempting to join a tribe. Something she'd never done or been a part of before. While the queen supposed her family band or cats could be considered a small tribe, very small was better for movement, it was completely different that apparently a large tribe with a single stable home. " You could always come back and get more sweets for your tribe." She offered so draw her mind away from her own family before the guilt started to fill her.
