(( forward!!)) the pudgy gray tom chuckled, "ahhh that's debatable! an that tis all the MORE reason for the likes of Me to pass them along to the likes of You!" then he a stretch "and point is that stories can...grow with the telling, an the mys and stalwarts of to are the Gods an Heroes of tomorrow do ya see?" Haversham continued with a smile.

"But if the stories grow, then are they really the original story? Has the original narrative not died then?" Trent questioned with a quirk in his lip. This conversation had definitely peaked his interest both at the points raised and the difference from what he grew up on.

the older gray tom's pudgy frame shook as his chuckling deepened, "and does the tree die just because it grows? nay! but tha meaning ahh that, that con get blurred something awful!" Haversham replied. "which is all the more reason to share the stories and ways with those who will listen! ah with your curiosity you area fine one Trent me Boy!" he added with a flick a rounded ear. then he laughed again said with a wink, "but there I go repeating myself, and that is one of the pit falls talking with an old codger l Me!

Oooooh philosophical debates and talking in circles. Now this could get amusing. "But a trying growing and a story changing aren't the same. When the story grows the meanings usually change." He pointed out. Or they just get blurred by people intentionally changing it. After all the old addage 'blood is thicker than water' originally had a very different meaning. "Everything can be twist to suit one's needs."
Trent laughed as well, "The pitfalls of aging. But at least you can repeat the good stories." He added with a wink.

the older gray tom beamed, "ahh but when it grows a tree adds layers, the bark and the rings, the branches spread out reach in directions that may not be immediately apparent or forseen....much like a tale or story! and yes that maybe so, but that just means we have to listen, weed the chafe from the wheat so to speak." Haversham said the he turned, reached into the tire and pulled out a thermos st as tall as he was. "would ya care for a wee tipple Lad?" he asked.

"But how do you know what you have isn't the chafe?" Trent countered with a grin. He chuckled at the offer, "I'm not in the habit of denying myself." Because he really didn't see the use of it. Maybe it was the American in him. Well Probably. And before being adopted he had plenty of experience with being denied simply because they didn't have the means to indulge. So of course he'd take it. "Quite fond of it aren't you?"

the pudgy gray tom flicked a rounded ear as he deftly poured a small measure of a black liquid that foamed white into a plastic cup, "well one of the things that humans are good for are there brewing skills!" Haversham said with another laugh. "though I do know a thing or two my own self, but that's not for now," he added handing the cup to Trent. then he poured one for himself, "sláinte!"

Trent raised his cup slightly at Haversham's words before taking a long drink. "It took a while to get used to the different drinks here. It's a little different across the pond. Not sure who's I like better." He commented offhandedly while swirling the liquid for a moment before taking another drink.

the pudgy old tom cocked his gray furred head thoughtfully, "well all that I can say about the...beers from Americay is that My Human once sent a pint to a Veterinarian and the result that came back told him his horse had diabetes! but stout not all that I drink, I like tea as well. the way my den is set I can sun brew it in jars on the roof easy as you please." Haversham said. then he strtched and took a sip himself. "not many of the kindred have devolped taste for Human Brews which is probably all to the good, do many across the Pond?"

The tom barely suppressed a snort at Haversham's mention of brewing tea due the stereotypes of humans about tea in Britain. Instead he settled for a quirk of his lips and a shrug, "Depend on where they come from. Cats who come from shelters like mine do whatever they can to get by in those places, alley cats are a toss up and I doubt house cats ever taste 'em." Trent answered leaving out the level or morbidity the shelters could reach. Just surviving was considered a feat in some of them.

it was the pudgy old tom's turn to snort, "stay away om Shelters ifin you to stay whole! fell asleep n the wrong alley once and some dogooding Human's scooped Me up to one ina sorta catch 'n release you will. the Vet go's snip snip an all I have to offer the Queens is e cuddlin and pring honey in their ears with sweet talking!" Trent snorted as he rolled his eyes, "If that's all they do here it's not that bad. America has what they deem "kill shelters" - don't get out quick enough they put ya in the ground. 'Sides it was hard to have a tribe when I was born in a shelter." His quipped, though his voice betrayed no amount of negative emotion. Something he'd distanced himself from long ago.

the pudgy gray tom gave Trent's shoulder a friendly bump, "THAT is behind ya Laddiebuck you have a Tribe now!" Haversham said with a smile. "and the Tribe look's out for one another! oh the members may have a tiff with one another from time to time but we are here ifin you are in need! so are there any of the Lassies that have caught your eye, or do you prefer the Laddiebucks?" he added with a grin. "if tis to personal never mind but maybey I can give you an insights to help you along!"
