A lean, dark brown tom approached the front gates slowly, almost reluctantly. Asparagus absently played with the collar around his neck and let his mind wander.
It had been a while since he'd been home.
"I'm d-disap-ppointed in you, son." Old Gus had said. "You should be in a theater troupe! When I was your age, I-"
"Yes, Dad." Asparagus had sighed, as sweetly as he could. "I know all about it. But...I don't belong in the theater. And I don't feel like I belong here either."
He hadn't yelled or slammed any doors or thrown a great tantrum; Asparagus simply left. Those were the last words he'd spoken to his father in...had it been months? A year, maybe?
The blue-eyed tom had traveled about, trying to avoid his father's shadow. Thoughts of the junkyard and his father's ailing health, however, had haunted him so terribly that he had to return.
The bright, confidant cat was all smiles and grins as he surveyed the junkyard entrance; his strong, handsome features betrayed none of his nervousness or bruised pride.
"Anyone about?" he called out. Asparagus thought it terribly impolite to enter anywhere, even his own junkyard, without an invitation. It had been an awfully long time in any case; he wasn't sure of what had changed in his absence.

Carbuckety flipped into veiw, his acrobatic skills kicking in. He landed in front of Asparagus. He hadn't seen the tom for awhile. "Hi Asparagus!" He waved even though he was right in front of him, "Haven't seen ya for some time. Shouldn't you be at the theatre?" He jumped in his spot having another serge of energy.

Asparagus positively beamed at the appearance of his old friend. "Some things never change! S'good to see you, Carbuckety. I'm...ah...on vacation from the theater at the moment, as it were." Asparagus felt a twinge of guilt at his half-lie, but didn't miss a beat. "How've you been? What juicy drama 'ave I been missing?" he continued happily.
[It's a roundabout way of doing it, but I can't quite understand what's going on in the other boards like 'Wisdom'. Care to help a poor, misguided RPer?]

Thalia padded into view humming slightly to herself. She wasn't payng particular attention to what was going on and walked straight into Carbucketty.
"Oh! Sorry!!"

((Well, at the moment, Munkustrap is locked up in the dungeons with Bomba's mother (danica) and Macavity is trying to capture old D by sending his henchcats, but so far no luck Does that help at all?)) Carbuckety turned in fright, "Oh, it's ok." He smiled and looked back at Asparagus and frowned, "Munkustrap's been kidnapped. Cettie was recently kidnapped too. Everything's been pretty chaotic really."

Thalia stared wide eyed at Carbucketty. "Cettie too? When? I wasn't gone that long!"

[Thanks!]
Asparagus stiffened and widened his blue eyes with well-practiced drama. "By the Everlasting Cat! Things never seem to settle down round 'ere." He then sighed in a jaded, 'the world is depending on me' sort of way. "Don't suppose I could lend a paw...it's been so long since I've since Munkustrap...and Cettie, of all kittens!"

"I don't know. Everyone's over at the tire." Carbuckty scratched the back of his head. Last time he check things were insane over there. He wasn't going back anytime soon. "Old D said he didn't want anyone going after Munkustrap. Something about to many of us hurt already. Like Alonzo. Plato and Stokley are fine though. We should start a rescue party."

Asparagus perked up immediately. "Fantastic!" he cried, assuming his best swashbuckling stance. "We'll 'ave 'em beggin' for mercy in no time!" He unsheathed an invisible sword from his side and pranced about for a moment, clashing with some invisible enemy. With a few wide sweeps of his sword, he surveyed the damage he had caused to the 'enemy' and turned to bow to Carbucketty. "Sir Asparagus, at your service." He said smoothly.

Carbuckety faught the urge to laugh. Wow theatre had really gotten to his head didn't it? He was pretty pumped himself but he didn't fight and inivisible foe, he did a few back flips and rolls, "Alright so we'll need to get Plato and Stokley- they're good fighters." Carbuckety pointed out.

Thalia grinned at Asparagus's antics. "What a swashbuckling hero you are!" She exclaimed, grinning sideways at Carbucketty.
"I could help out too!" She suggested.

Thalia beamed. "Great! So what should I do first. I wanna be as helpful as possible."
She was in short, excited.

Carbucketty shrugged, "I'm not sure." Bucketty was a kitten and wouldn't know where to start. Usually when faced with problems he go to Old Deuteronomy or Munkustrap for advice, but that obviously wasn't going to happen, "What do you think Asparagus?" He asked looking at him.

Mungojerrie had made a beeline for the cats, and come up to them just in time to hear them making some sort of rescue plans. His pace quickened excitedly. "Do Oi 'ear right, yer puttin' togethah a..." He looked around for any possible inquisitive ears. "Munk'tap rescue party? Well, count me in."
