Name: Cassandra
Gender: Female
Age: Young Adult. (25)
Tribe: Jellicle.
Tribe Position: Member
Family: Exotica - her niece
Appearance:
Human Appearance: Imaan Hamman
Personality: Cassandra is generally a difficult Queen, due to the entitlement and superiority that she thinks belongs to her. She is mystic and of pure breeding, something which gets to her head a lot. The Burmese is obsessed with some aspects of propriety, yet she completely ignores the rest. Cassandra has impeccable manners, and she expects everyone else to be the same way. Her movements are filled with the grace her personality seems to contain.
Cassandra has a fondness and dedication for anything she deems worthy of her attention. When she follows something, she is fully devoted, following their every word and command. This is quite difficult when she finds herself devoted to two polar opposites. She doesn't love order and rules, but instead deeply respects the Jellicle leaders. Still, her dedication to the tribe can be swayed if she finds anyone convincing enough.
Cassandra often appears self-obsessed. However, that is just the impression her aloofness gives. It is true that she is judgemental, but she also spends much time in contemplation. Cassandra is the kind of cat that plans every move and think everything through. She is cautious with strangers, until she knows she can trust them. Socially, Cassandra is rather like Bombalurina. When she finds someone worthy of her time, she speaks with a distinct wit and flirtation. However, Cassandra is much less outgoing, and expects people to approach her.
You may think of her as a snobby and mean cat, but that would mean you are ignoring her better qualities. Her loyalty to the cats she cares about is strong, and she loves to connect with others and form strong bonds. Cassandra behaves very nicely to cats that are impressive. She loves all the members of her tribe, she just also enjoys her solitude.
Faults: Cassandra raises herself above most of the other cats. She thinks that she is very important in comparison to the average feline. Her other main flaw is her vanity. Cassandra thinks she is the most beautiful Queen in the junkyard, and she constantly tries to look her best.
Describing word: Elegant
History: Cassandra and her twin Nefertiri were from a family of strict Burmese cats. Their parents, Thema and Hemeda, were still devoted to the ancient Egyptian traditions of their ancestors. The family was very proud of their connection to the ancient Pharaohs of Egypt, and refused to let go of it. Thema was a very strict mother, always ordering the twins around. They were as they were taught, silent and obedient. Whenever they weren’t under the watchful eyes of their parents, they were very playful. The sisters were so close, and they would so often playfight.
Hemeda was as strict as his mate, expecting the kittens to be proper and obedient. He would never allow them to play, and Cassandra feared both her parents. She did not understand how they were considered to be respectful Jellicles. Cassandra and Nefertiri were forbidden from playing with the other kittens of the tribe, for fear that they would pick up bad habits. They were off in their own little world for most of their kittenhood. They did not understand the real world, only the strange world of their family dynamic.
Cassandra was a teenager when she began to admire her parents. She didn’t know them until they were dead. They had been devout Protectors of the tribe, and they eventually gave up their life for it. Cassandra and Nefertiri were thrust out into the real world, where they faced the other Jellicles. It was a terrifying experience, but they made it through due to their reliance on Munkustrap. He was so devoted to the tribe, and so they looked to him to help with their transition. Cassandra is ever grateful, and is willing to spend her entire life returning the favor.
Cassandra and Nefertiri were forced to get to know the other Jellicles, and enjoyed hearing stories about their heroic parents. Nefertiri found a mate, leaving Cassandra alone. The older Burmese missed her sister, but still enjoyed solitude that she had never experienced before. Almost a year later, Nefertiri had a daughter, whom she named Exotica. Her mate decided to take her for a little trip to the country, leaving Exotica in Cassandra’s care. Nefertiri never returned. Cassandra heard of a train accident and she knew her sister was traveling by train. She was forced to raise her niece Exotica and once again turned to Munkustrap for help.
RP Sample: Cassandra curled up on top of the oven. The Jellicle moon rained down, giving her coat a beautiful shine. Her tail rested next to her as she released a yawn. She shut her eyes gently to block everything out. It was certainly late, and the Burmese wanted privacy. She began to dose of into sleep, resting under the stars. Her ears perked up. What was that noise? Cassandra glanced down to see what was going on. Her eyes scanned the scene. What could possibly be so import that it disturbs her sleep. Cassandra sighed, deciding to ignore it. This was not at all worth her time. She wished to be left alone. Then, it grew louder, and she realized she wasn’t the only one out here. There was a Pollicle.
Comments: I’ve always considered her mystic, but I never understood her powers. As she is named after a great seer, it seems to me that she should be a seer. So Cassandra gets unclear visions of the future, and she can do a little prediction on command. She can also look into someone’s past, though this is so exhausting, she barely uses this ability. (Feel free to use this for a storyline.)
