"We're a simple, straightforward kind of tribe." Tugger spoke. His striking blue eyes flicked over to Tumble when he mentioned the 'shoe' incident and blamed the sour note on him. A frown threatened to tug at his lips. The patched tom was actually teasing him? Or failing at making fun of him. He lifted a shoulder up in a half shrug. "Aww, and I thought you had finally hit puberty Tumble." He was fairly sure it was Jenn who had sang the high and bad note, trying to overcompensate for something else; or it was one of the elders of their tribe trying to reach high notes that they long since stopped being able to reach. But it was fun to trade insults and banter with Tumblebrutus over it.
"There's always next year Tumble." He grinned, cockily, showing off his teeth and all. He did gaze back at Maria. What else was there to tell? A shoe dropped in on them from nowhere. That was the gist of the story. He kicked off from the tire, and sauntered down at a leisure pace towards Tumble. "If you two are only going to sit by and chat, then I'll let you two get busy." He sent a subtle wink in Tumble's direction, while his back was still to Maria. Tugger wasn't one to sit idly by and chit-chat for too long. He had a restless nature and always had to be doing something...or 'someone' as per his reputation.

Tumble rolled his eyes slightly, had Tugger actually taken offense at his teasing? Or was he simply joking back? Tumble decided to move on in any case; the new queen would learn soon enough that much of the Junkyard's life consisted in arguing with each other...no need to start something now, though. Besides, he didn't exactly want to hand Tugger any more embarrassing ammo to throw back at him.
"That was it, really," he assured Maria. "We paid the shoe no mind, but simply sang all the louder."
He looked up sharply as Tugger seemed about to walk off. Catching the wink, Tumble gathered Tugger either had something more interesting in mind to do, or was going off to find something more interesting.
"Oi, wait just a minute," he protested, "if you've a better idea than chatting, I certainly want to be in on it! You, Maria?" He glanced back at the queen before turning to look at Tugger expectantly.

Maria let out a small snort of amusement at Tugger's description of the tribe. "Frankly, Tugger, I don't know any other cats who sing and dance like you guys do. You're a special group of cats." Her smile contained admiration for the cats who were now her new family. She hoped she'd be able to learn all the skills and become a true Jellicle soon. Now that she didn't have to focus on survival as much, she could perhaps focus on fitting in here.
She was unsure if the tones of the toms were friendly or not, so she gazed from one to the other, ready to break up a possible fight. "Now now, calm yourselves, guys." she mewed carefully. Seeing the tension ease up, she let out a breath of relief and stood, arching her back in a stretch, nodding at Tumble. "Yeah, you didn't think you'd get rid of us that easily, did you, Tugger? I'm with Tumble on this, do share your idea."

((Moon's going to be exiting Tugger out for me, as I'm going to be away for a few weeks due to personal reasons. That way you and Eliaza can continue without me.))

Tugger looked between Tumble and Maria. He seriously had just wanted to travel to another part of the junkyard and see who was out and about. He wanted to socialize with others and just make his rounds, flitting from one place to another. It wasn't that exciting and he couldn't imagine they'd enjoy it much. And it's not exactly the type of suggestion "The Tugger" would come up with. So with a sly and dirty smile he gestured towards the streets. "Oh mm..My friend Sabine is hosting an orgy just down the street from The Red Rose Tavern." He gave Maria a leer before he shook his head. "You're too young to tag along. And you...Well, the elders would have my head if I dragged you into something that 'disgusting'. So sorry, but I'll be heading out on my own. I'll see you two later." With a final wink, he turned and then sauntered away, heading towards the city. He had a few places he could visit and have fun at in the city while he was out, and he already started to make the plans.

Tumble stared after Tugger, dumbstruck for a few moments. He couldn't make head or tail of that tom... Sometimes he was a normal, fun guy, other times ... Tumble wasn't sure what an 'orgy' was, but clearly it was something the adults would faint over if they heard of him or Maria going to one. Well, they probably didn't like Tugger's going either, but who could tell The Tugger what to do? The idea was laughable.
Clearing his throat and trying not to let on how shocked he was by Tugger's abrupt exit (or that he was totally at a loss what Tugger had been talking about), Tumble turned back to Maria. "Don't mind him," he shrugged. "He gets bored easily and moves quickly from one thing to another. So...er... Wanna play a game or something?"

Maria shook her head as Tugger left. "Well...that's an interesting thing to go to, whatever that is." she commented, amused and confused at the same time. But she assumed whatever Tugger was doing wasn't allowed. It just sounded so much like Tugger, from what she'd heard. She couldn't imagine herself breaking any rules around here...
"Yeah..I should've expected that of him." She chuckled. "Anyway, let's play a game, what do you have in mind, Tumble?" she asked, curious. She had no idea what cats played around here.

"What game...well..." Tumblebrutus trailed off momentarily, looking thoughtfully at Maria, trying to decide the best game to suggest. His favourite was wrestling or playfighting, but Maria didn't look the wrestling sort. Normally he wouldn't be so picky, but the adults had got onto him lately about "treating queens with more respect," "not roughhousing," blah blah blah. He didn't want to get in trouble, plus she was new, he didn't want to get on her bad side straight off. He briefly wondered why he was in such an odd mood and overthinking everything. Must've been Tugger's weird comments, he decided. It's put me in some sort of funk. How annoying.
Realizing he'd been quiet for several moments now, he shrugged and decided to just make a random suggestion. "Hmm...ever played charades?"

Maria retreated to her own thoughts as Tumble attempted to think of a game. She looked around and watched the other cats as they conversed, played and left the Yard for adventure. Her attention snapped back to him when he suggested charades. "Honestly, no, I've never done that." she admitted. "Could you teach me?" Her eyes shone with excitement.

Tumblebrutus blinked in surprise at Maria's answer. He'd learnt "Charades" from another kitten who made it sound like a game nearly everyone knew. Upon reflection, though, Tumble recalled that the kit had picked it up from a human family. So, maybe it was a game that only cats with humans knew. And he himself...sort of, but not really...vaguely had a human family.
Shaking his head briefly to dismiss the thoughts distracting him, Tumble clapped his paws. "All right, then! Let's see if I can remember the rules, it's been a while..." He wrinkled up his nose in thought. How had it gone again... "The main thing is to pretend something and have the other cat guess what it is!" He glanced at Maria. "Does that make sense?"

Maria thought about how that might work. "Ah, so, a game of pretending? Sure, I can do that!" She clapped her paws as well. "Well, who should go first?" The thought of the game excited her. She hadn't played anything at all since her mother's death, having to constantly run...well, besides chasing mice, that was her favorite thing to do. "This should be fun!"

Tumble grinned at her enthusiasm. "Maybe I should go first, so you can see how it's done?"
He frowned in concentration, trying to remember exactly what one was supposed to do. No talking, he knew that... Deciding that was the most important, he tried to think of what to act out. He considered Tugger...that would be hilarious...but also immensely unfair since Maria hadn't been here long enough to make that an easy guess. Picking something that would hopefully be easy for the first round, he said, "Okay, what am I?" and began flapping his arms.

Maria frowned as he flapped his arms. She searched through her mind for possible answers. What flapped its arms in that weird way? "Er...a bird?" she guessed, hoping it wasn't a stupid guess. She needed to leave a good impression on these cats and she assumed news and opinions spread like wildfire around here.
