Name~ Cassandra (Cass and Cassie are her nicknames. Casserole is valid as well, but only if she is being addressed by a mischievous cat like Pouncival or Mungojerrie. Or if she's close friends with someone and they're just joking around.)

Appearance~ Cassandra: known for her striking beauty, yet often overshadowed by Bombalurina. Her height, though not extraordinary, certainly makes her stand out among any group of queens. Her dark brown fur fades to almost a cream on her face, chest, and back. Her eyes are a lovely grey-blue that look nearly brown in dim light. Cassandra's constant facial expression is much like the Mona Lisa-a small, secret smile as if she knows something you don't (and, indeed, she probably does).
    Her body language and features make her appear very mature, which she is. The toms go crazy over her, yet are less likely to approach her than Bombalurina-but who can blame them? Why go for the aloof, seemingly unattainable Egyptian beauty when you can take your chances with the approachable, vivacious Scarlet Queen?

Personality~ Cassandra is a huge flirt. Though she doesn't participate much in other social situations, she is an expert in sweet talk. Cass knows how to make the toms fall for her in both subtle and obvious ways. Despite this, she is hesitant to start a relationship. You wouldn't know it from her excess of confidence, but Cassandra is deeply afraid of rejection. Her parents abandoned her the minute she was born, and she constantly fears abandonment by her friends and loved ones. She is very slow to trust, and she is distant even with her closest companions.
    Cass adores the spotlight (since this is also accompanied by her aloof personality, she is often mistaken for more vain than she really is.) When she's performing, she relishes in the fact that all eyes are on her. They've come to see her, and with good reason, too. She is quite an elegant and sophisticated dancer. Every movement Cassandra makes is gorgeously executed. The way she glides across the stage is almost unreal.
    Above all, Cassandra is thoroughly dedicated to the Jellicle tribe. She's a fighter, though she may not look like it. If anyone dares threatens her tribe, she will TAKE THEM DOWN. She's not overprotective and doesn't lead battles like Munkustrap, but she's often included in search parties/fight squads/Junkyard border patrol/etc. 
    If she could be described in one word, that word would probably be mysterious.


Faults~ A little vain and a little too confident.


Backstory~ Cassandra's backstory is really the backstory of her parents. An unknown Siamese cat seduced Growltiger in order to become a part of the crew and gather intel. She sent inside information and plans to her boss, Ghenghis/Gilbert, until the time was right to seize the ship of most feared pirate in England.
    There was no foreboding storm or howling winds on the day of this attack. All was calm on Growltiger's ship until Gilbert struck. As he and his men viciously pounced on the unsuspecting crew, the unknown Siamese attempted to kill Growlitger. However, she was only successful in cutting off one of his ears. Gilbert's band of miscreants was fought off with difficulty, and the Siamese left with them.
    Growltiger's crew was victorious but depleted. What was once a mighty troop of more than fifty buccaneers was down to about twenty-five. Gilbert's group didn't fare too much better. Both were left with an overpowering desire for revenge, which would not be satiated for years to come.
    The unknown Siamese later gave birth to Cassandra. She had absolutely no need nor want for a baby, so she left the brown kitten on the banks of the Thames to die. Luckily, Cassandra was found there by Old Deuteronomy and taken in to the Jellicle Tribe. Cass knows nothing of her parents, only that they left her. She may find out more about them through a series of flashbacks/visions, or Old Deuteronomy might tell her.


Powers~ Cassandra has the ability to see into the future. When she does so, she enters a trance-like state. Her eyes cloud over as she utters muddled riddles and seemingly disjointed phrases. After a vision, she usually has no memory of it. If a vision is recurring, she slowly begins to recall parts of it. Beyond that, she has no special powers, but the Jellicles often come to her for predictions and prophecies. Cass may occasionally have an into-the-past vision when she is discovering more about her past and parents.


Weaknesses~ After a vision, Cass's energy is completely sapped. If a vision is extremely important or long, it may be painful. In this case, a horrible, stabbing pain spreads throughout her whole body. It's like the excruciating pain of a migraine, except it is not isolated to her head. All she can do to recover is rest since not much is known about how her power works.

*ADDITIONAL NOTE*  Any pairing is fine with me as long as there is no creepy age difference (i.e. Old Deuteronomy and, say, a kitten). I would like to keep it clean because I greatly prefer cutesy fluff romance over smut. I am fine with being paired with a cat of any gender.

I do love what you have for Cassandra. However, on this board, Genghis and Gilbert are two separate characters. (With Genghis being the siamese and rival of Growltiger, and the rest of his bio being up to whoever wants to apply for Genghis. And Gilbert being a member of the jellicle tribe and their entire bio/history being up to whoever decides to apply for them)

As you have her listed as a mystic, I am going to ask you to go more in depth of what Cassandra can do, and also go more in depth of the weaknesses that accompany her abilities. If you need any help, Moon or I would be more then willing to help.

Also, I have Cassandra and Demeter reserved for you, did you want me to reserve Jemima for you as well or no?

I would love to be all three, but I wasn't sure if I could since those are listed as dead/not available (Jemima's American name-Sillabub-is listed on that thread. I'll re-apply for Demeter and Jemima since I didn't do the full form. I'm not sure if there's a Sillabub actively roleplaying, but if there is, I count them as the same cat. In that case, obviously, two people can't be the same cat.

As for the Genghis/Gilbert thing, I wasn't sure which one was Growltiger's rival since both names are used for the same cat depending on the production. Thanks for clearing that up!

I apologize for the lack of detail. I spent an entire day filling out my application over and over again, but I took too long each time and it deleted it when I tried to submit the thread. For this one I kept it short while also attempting to make it semi-interesting. At least I got the form right this time:)!

Okay. Her powers are the ability to see into the future as well as the distant past. She is able to recall things that were before her time or that will be after it. She can do nothing beyond that. No time-travelling, no ability to teleport things, no other magic. Cats often come to her to catch a glimpse of their futures. When she's having a vision, Cassandra's eyes mist over and she sits there perfectly still in a trance. She may speak in riddles during said trance. However, she usually remembers visions/prophecies, so once she's done using her powers, she can speak normally and explain what she saw the vision. Using her powers drains Cassandra's energy. Depending on the importance of the prophecy or the further back/forward in time it goes, it may even be painful for Cassandra. This pain is like the utter horror that is a migraine, except it is spread throughout her entire body. Serious attacks like this may require the attention of another mystic.

The dead character threads are just for character applications that got dropped or are no longer in use. It was a way of cleaning up the site, but still keeping the old applications around in case that member ever came back and wanted to reapply. (instead of redoing the entire application, their old application would still be on the site. If any of that made sense.) But there's a thread listed as Canon Characters Available, and that is the thread you can look at when you are looking to apply for a Canon. I have characters that are available, reserved and taken listed respectfully. Though for now you can ignore the relationships page. As we are rebooting a little bit, most of the previous relationships do not exist anymore and I haven't had the chance to update it yet. You can find the Available Canon's listed here.

Like with Genghis and Gilbert, I do have Jemima and Sillabub listed up as two separate characters, but that was back when we had more members. So I may go ahead and only have one of them as a canon. If someone down the road wants to apply for Sillabub as an Original Character, then I would be fine with that. But I will list Jemima as reserved for you as well. But no worries. I understand that it's a lot to take in. I do believe in the rules I have stated that a member can only play up to 4 Canon Characters. But I can't remember if I put a limit on OCs and mystic's or not. I may get rid of the 4 canon limit however, unless we get more members. Then they deserve a chance to play one of the canon's.

Oh there is no need to apologize. You should have seen my first application. I think I put 3 sentences for my character's entire personality. It was extremely short and...lacking in a lot of details. I still hate writing personalities, though I have grown to love typing up histories and backstories for my characters. And if you are having trouble, you can always start out an application and just put (wip) next to their name in the title for the thread and then post it. (Wip) means work in progess. So you can post up an unfinished application and go back to it later when you have time to edit it. There should be an edit button in the top right of the thread, where you as the poster can go back to the unfinished application and work more on it. ^_^

I will reread over her powers, as I only skimmed them and get back to you. I have to get ready for work, and don't have the time.
But take your time on your other applications. We're not going anywhere in any hurry.

Backstories are fun because it's weaving the tale of someone's past. Personalities are difficult for me because I've been writing stories for so many years that I've become used to showing their personality through the story. I've never applied for an RP forum before because I assumed they were all dead (like every other Cats fansite over the course of the past four years). There was another forum I tried to join where you needed only a few words for your application, and that forum, unfortunately, only ever got to three members. Hopefully, with the Broadway revival, the fandom will liven up again. Plus, there's the new Cats movie coming out, unfortunately directed by *Macavity growl* Tom Hooper, and which is considering using *Second Macavity growl* CGI. But hey, it might draw in new members.

Alright, Moon and I have reviewed her powers.

We're concerned that Cassandra being able to remember and see visions of characters futures, could cross over into the godmodding area. We're also not sure how her seeing things from the past are meant to help. While receiving visions is a cool power, telling another member's character that such and such is going to happen to their character is slight godmodding. If you're willing to tone down her visions, and either have the visions Cassandra gets to be in the abstract or more prophetic/omen..ly...we're willing to let Cassandra keep her visions. If they are more abstract or prophetic, it would be harder for Cassandra to say exactly what was going to happen, if you know what I mean. (Moon's better at talking then I am) Could you also clarify how seeing into the past helps? Or how you see her using it while you're RPing. We are just curious of what you were thinking and what relevance that part of her gift would have.

You're totally right about the problems with the visions. I wanted to get away from a cheesy prophecy vibe, but doing so I also took away from the mystical part of it. I'll cut the bit about her being able to remember them clearly. I was thinking of more what I have in my own fanfic world than of transposing that to a RP-appropriate universe. She won't be able to dictate cats' futures, but rather tell them a vague hint of where it may be going, and the cats themselves can decide where to take that.

Sorry about the confusion over the seeing-into-the-past part. I think I'm going to tweak a bit of her past in order to fix it. I'm going to have her be born on Growltiger's ship shortly before the attack I mentioned in my application. The Siamese will leave Cassandra on the ship when she leaves with Genghis. Growltiger will be the one to leave Cass on the banks of the Thames. Cass will have forgotten who her parents were because she was a baby when they left her, but when she starts to question her past, she will have visions of the attack. These visions will come slowly, and she will gradually piece them together as they come up to find out what happened to her parents. Old Deuteronomy will not know who they were, only that he found Cassandra on the banks of the Thames. Otherwise, there will be nothing but visions of the future.

ohhh it should be interesting to see the past visions she gets around Grumbuskin as he was one of the Mates (as in the Bucko Mate ) in Growltigers Crew!
not to mention the loss of the Crew during the Last Stand!

Can you please actually write that out in the application? If you notice there is a section with "powers" and "weaknesses" as well as an RP sample in the application posted in the section. Just so everything is in one place and if other's want to read Cassie's app they don't have to go through the comments to figure out her mystic abilities

I'll be sure to put that in the application. I wasn't sure about how to do an RP sample. Do I just write it myself? I thought I had to take it from a previous thread, in which case I have none because I've never done roleplay before.

You can write it yourself no problem. Its just so we know how you're going to play Cassandra and its also practice for you to start getting a feel for the character. As long as you write it in 3rd person and have a minimum of 4 sentences, you'll be fine.
