Name: Mungojerry
Gender: Male
Age: Young Adult
Tribe: Jellicle
Tribe Position:
Family: Rumpleteazer (sister)
Appearance:
Personality: Mungojerry loves to tell jokes, he doesn't really do much else. He prefers humor to real emotions and often uses humor to disguise what he is actually feeling. Apart from telling jokes and being a natural comic genius (he likes to think) he really loves being active, running around chasing anything that moves - you name it he loves it, the rush that he gets from doing anything physical is, to him, the best feeling in the world (apart from someone really laughing at one of his jokes).
Jerry likes to pride himself on being a great wingman, always setting himself up to fail so that whom ever he is being a wingman to can take the prize as such. It took a few hit and misses with queens himself to realize that he is much better at helping a friend get a mate then actually getting one himself. When he tries to hard to please a queen it tends to go south very quickly and seems to come across as obnoxious and irritating.
Mungo loves an audience, he will often tell tails of his and his sister’s latest adventure and exploits, sometimes exaggerating at length and with great detail. There have been instances when his stories have not quite matched up with Teazer’s, and that has gotten both of them into some pickles. For the most part, he paints pictures of wild adventures wrought with action and danger, and though most know that he adds a white lie or two and twists some details to make his stories seem far more glamorous, they are willing to listen anyway because the stories are harmless enough, and Mungojerry has a knack for weaving a very entertaining tail. He is a magician with words.
Mungo isn’t the most responsible of cats, in fact he is very much the opposite. He is the worst for taking full responsibility for his actions, or actually getting anything done. Nobody should ever entrust him with a chore that has a deadline he will never get it done on time, always finding some new distraction or excuse to get out of it. This isn’t to say that he will never take responsibility for his actions; it will just take him an abnormally long time to do so. He will try his best to wiggle out of anything and everything, much to the disappointment of the rest of the tribe.
Faults: Apart from a few ill timed jokes, which is always, he can't really gage the temperature of a room very well - meaning that he basically always seems to say the wrong things in emotional situations, whether it is considered inappropriate or immature he really does mean well. Another fault that goes hand in hand with his lack of tact, would be his inability to have a serious/normal/proper conversation, this is due to the fact that he very self-conscious and he covers this up with jokes and humor.
Describing word: class-clown
History: Mungojerry and his sister were once adopted by nice human owners when they were kittens, they were living in this tiny house - fortunately after a few years the owners found a new place, unfortunately it didn't allow pets - and that’s how Jerry and Teazer ended up on the streets.
There were certain days when the two siblings weren’t sure if the next meal was going to be their last, because they were still fairly young they were constantly harassed by the older, hardened street cats. They weren’t used to having to fend for themselves and only managed to eat what they found in a trashcan, but it could never sustain their hunger. Knowing that they had to improve the ways that they foraged or face starvation, they began to watch the other street cats, trying to find clues on how to steal from shops and families. Luckily for them one of the older, more experienced street cats, by the name of Amadeus, took pity on them and enlisted their services in his small gang of thieves. His teachings weren’t for free however, and as he taught them the ways of being a thief, they had to steal other more valuable items such as jewelry and silverware from well-to-do families in the neighbourhood.
As is turned out, Mungojerry and Rumpleteazer had a natural talent for the art of nicking things and, after a decent amount of training to hone their skills, they were soon the top thieves in their little group and grew complacent with their roles, quickly forgetting who had lead them to where they are. Amadeus soon became livid, as he was no longer relied on for being the best. He was quick to spread nasty rumors about the sibling duo, leading to their exile from the thieves’ territory. They survived on their own again, now knowing the laws of the ‘snatch-and-grab’, but they never had a permanent home, moving almost every night, just to avoid other street cats and the humans who took the strays to the pound. After a while it just got to hard for them, the constant moving made them miss the stability that came with having a permanent home, and so they went in search for a new home.
It actually didn't take them that long to stumble upon the Jellicle tribe and become apart of their family. Mungojerry was welcomed with open, all be it slightly annoyed arms (due to his humor) and has lived there ever since, not even slightly missing his old life on the streets.
Now a days you would be hard pressed to find Jerry staying in the one place for more then five minuets. He is always up and about, moving around, finding new things to see and do. That to him is what life should be about, always one big active adventure.
RP Sample: Mungojerry's feet pounded along the pavement, dodging this way and that, avoiding the large broom that kept coming at him. This was yet another venture outside of the territory went horribly wrong again. He ventured out to gather new material for his comedy act, not that anyone else thought it was particularly funny apart from himself. Jerry just put it down to the fact that no one really watched human TV shows, or at least the ones that he watched - or attempted to anyway. Trying to watch a human TV show was what got him into this mess in the first place. All he did was sit outside the fish and chip shop and try to watch some TV. It's not his fault that the customers and passes by stopped for a pat and occasionally snuck him a bite to eat.
Mungojerry finally came to a stop near his tribe’s territory. Panting heavily he turned to look behind him to see if the owner of the shop was still pursing him. Luckily for the tom, he was nowhere in site. Jerry slid down to the ground. He was just *pant pant* going to wait here *pant pant* until he caught *pant* his breath.
Comments: He isn't a mystic, nor does he possess anything close to it - but he does have his humor, he may be the only one who gets it, but it's something.
