Name: Trent
Gender: Male
Age: Adult
Tribe: Jellicle
Tribe Position: N/A
Family: Not relevant beyond potential distant relations
Appearance: While Trent doesn't stand out much for his size - he's about average height and build, with definite muscle build but nothing too ostentatious. Trent is a brown tabby with his fur and stripes ranging from dark brown to lighter almost caramel shades. Though what tends to get him noticed is his wilder, almost haphazard style to his fur and his almost always relaxed posture. Trent holds himself is a very lackadasy and 'devil-may-care' way, moving with a very unhurried flow. Trent also had dark brown eyes. Kind of this
Human Appearance: Shiloh Fernandez --->
Just look at him | I really like his face | Look a gif | Look at this smile | I love him a bit | He's a little shit | I was so many gifs of him
Personality: The first thing that other's usually notice about Trent is his apparent inability to conjure up much of any negative emotion or to come across as being ruffled. He seems to be in nearly a constant relaxed and completely laid back attitude, and really not care about the troubles going on around him. Calm and collected come naturally to the brown tabby, and usually manages to permeate most of the situations that Trent is in. He is extraordinarily good at calming down and providing a relaxing aura to others no matter how wound up others are around him. He tends to carry himself in a very 'devil-may-care' way and simply goes about his life in the manner he wants to. He doesn't feel the need to go out of his way to please those he has no real connection to and couldn't give a damn about how they perceive him. Though this is part of his charm and charisma.
A lot of his emotions tend to come off as rather tempered - without too many extremes. At least extremes rarely happen externally and observably. Trent is a tom who has little grey area in terms of his emotions; either he is essentially completely unaffected or he feels something extremely deeply. It's just rarely obvious in his demeanor or expression. The depth of his emotions tends to be notable in his actions and how he treats others - things like the fact that after years and despite being able to take care of themselves Trent still meets his humans after their dance practices. He will put the needs of those he cares about ahead of his own, but without ever bringing attention to what he's doing - and if confronted about it he'll simply shrug it off as nothing special because to him it is nothing special. He firmly believes that doing whatever he can for those he cares about and taking care of them when he can. He's got a heart of absolute gold, you've just got to find it and the depth of emotions he's capable of first. Although, along with the depth of his caring and passions comes the flip side of his potential for anger. Unknown to most Trent's anger is rather explosion and often is displayed with little to no warnings beforehand.
Trent is ambivalent to attention, he enjoys it when he has it but is fine blending in to the background and letting someone else shine. Especially if he believes that they deserve it. Again, he comes across as being unfazed by a large amount of what's going on around him and Trent simply takes it all in stride and goes with things, having learned that going against the tide rarely works and that getting worked up over things that cannot be changed does a lot more harm than good.
He cares about his little corner of the world and those in it and the rest be damned. He'll either move mountains or not bother picking up a paw for you, it's one or the other and there's very little room in between for him.
Faults: Trent's general lackadasy attitude and tendency to appear mostly unaffected by what's going on around him can sometimes make him appear to be apathetic or think himself better than others. This can easily aggravate and make enemies out of others, especially as when confronted about this disposition he'll continue to appear unaffected and only serve to further aggravate whoever is confronting him.
However despite his overall easy going and 'I-don't-give-a-damn' demeanor, Trent has a surprisingly aggressive and quickly triggered temper. In the instances he's actually baited into a fight Trent is the one who'll go from laughing off an insult and then immediately throwing fists around, often relying on the surprise of his sudden aggression and going for a violent blitz attack. All of Trent's fighting experience comes from general street fights or brawls. This sudden flaring of his temper can sometimes make Trent a little unpredictable since there are very few forewarning signs to his explosion of anger. And they're always explosions, his anger doesn't appear in small increments. Trent's temper appears and goes from zero to a hundred at the snap of fingers.
Trent also is just about incapable of minding his language, most of which isn't the nicest. He has an incredible capacity for cursing and does it so much that it has become part of his normal language and will barely realize his language isn't for everyone.
Describing word: Lackadaisical
History: Originally born in a shelter in upstate New York, Trent was one of few surviving kittens his mother had. He grew up very close to his mother despite the shelter not being exactly the most friendly with its over crowded nature and high stress environment. In the shelter, it was Trent's naturally relaxed and laid back attitude that would generally be able to calm down his more high strung mother from getting too worked up. Somehow Trent has managed to maintain that relaxed disposition to the point that many have called him apathic through the years. But due to the high stress environment of the shelter he was born into, his mother lost several kits from various fathers. And although Trent never actually learned who his father was, it never seemed to bother the brown tabby - even when others attempted to use his mysterious and unknown figure of his father to goad him into a fight. Whoever attempted to bait him with insults in his mother has always ended with a fist in their face however, though they may not have been able to see it coming between the split
second when his laugh would end and the snarl would take its place.
It only took a couple years until some family decided that the laid back tom would do well to help teach their kids responsibility while simultaneously giving them a companion. When it was time to visit the tom in the shelter he kept quite close to his mother - not so inconspicuous in his attempts to bring his mother to the family's attention as well. Somehow his not so subtle hintings somehow managed to work, and for years later and still to this day he'll it to be the work of him natural and indomitable easy going charm. Despite the much easier and stress free life for the two cats away from the shelter, Trent was still a major source of calm and soothing energy. Trent and his mother remained with the family, even made the trek with the family when they 'chose' to move for one of the mothers' jobs with her promotion. Naturally a move to a different continent was turbulent for the family and children. Similar to his penchant for calming his mother down, Trent was able to be a calming presence for the children of the family, conspicuously appearing when stress was high and somehow calming tense atmospheres. The brown tabby has never exactly been consciously aware of how he ever manages this affect, but like most of the other things in his life that Trent has no control over he simply shrugs to himself and goes with it. The brown tabby has simply embraced this affect and ran (or rather sauntered) with it.
The family's move took all six of them (cats included) to London. In attempts to integrate the children into their new life, their mothers enrolled them into dance classes - which Trent would mysteriously appear at upon the end of their lessons at the near by studio. The family had long ago gotten accustomed to such behaviour from the brown tabby and usually simply greeted him before they would return home. He also picked up the habit of being around when they would practice at home for recitals or auditions, generally taking up residence on window sils and just so happening to choose to sun himself in the same room. These 'coincidental' occurrences quickly lead to a small bur-age of window sil cushions in rooms that the family stress tended to happen in. Completely coincidentally.
Trent's charisma and thirst for lively interaction took him out of the house most often, while his mother preferred the familiar and more stress free environment of the houses and small neighbourhood that she knew. It wasn't long before Trent stumbled upon the Jellicles and joined the tribe, which he's been a part of for the past few years.
RP Sample: The midday sun was blazing and bright, but the brown tabby had managed to find a wonderfully shady spot. The fact that it meant he was perching on a fence to get that shady spot didn't effect Trent in the slightest, in fact it put him in position to feel the slight breeze. He took advantage of the hour or two that he had before he'd need to begin the short trek to the dance studio to meet Ally and Lauren and he was set on enjoying it with a nap. Thankfully the dog next door was in a good mood, and generally quiet when his human let him out of the house to stretch his own legs. Before Trent knew it, it was time to leave or he'd be late. He was never late. So languidly the brown tom stretched and hopped down from the fence - rolling his eyes as the dog began to bark - and sauntered to the studio. It was too hot out to rush. Not that Trent rushed very often for anything.
The tabby made himself comfortable at the entrance and exit of the studio, now enjoying the warmth of the sun on his fur. By now he'd grown accustom to the various humans who recognized him and stopped to run their hands over his silky fur on their way out the doors. Finally it was his humans to come out of the doors and with a familiar greeting, they heading home for dinner together.
