Name: Charla (pronouced Shar-la)
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Tribe: Jellicle.
Tribe Position: N/A
Family: Charla has run away from her immediate family.
Appearance: At first glance Charla is a very light grey coloured cat with patches of gold, black and a little bit of brown with long loosely curled hair. She's just shorter than average height and rather slim with dark brown eyes. The only really distinguishing thing about Charl's appearance is the plain, fitted silver band that she wears around her right wrist.
Human Appearance:
Personality: Those who just meet Charla might be a bit taken aback as her personality can be a bit confusing. To most she seems to oscillate between a sweet caring queen and more brazen sarcastic (that borders on plain rudeness) queen. The truth to it is that Charla is in reality a very sweet natured, although pessimistic queen. She is the cat that will hope for the best for everyone while realizing that it's simply not going to happen, rather than violence she prefers to try to defuse a tense situation whenever possible. Despite the fact that she is able to hold her own (just enough) in a fight, she doesn't have a malicious bone her body and thus rather slow to anger, but quick to apologize and forgive.
Charla's seemingly alternate brazen, sarcastic personality is not actually a personality at all. But rather a display of Charla's ability to lie and act, it's an act that she ingrained into her by her parents and her previous lifestyle and something that she is trying very hard to discard. Unfortunately old habits die hard and comments do automatically slip through, although Charla is quick to recognize and apologize - especially if she thinks it was offensive.
Faults: Charla forgives very easily, and feels immense amounts of guilt. So it is very easy for someone to manipulate her by simply asking for forgiveness and playing on her guilt. This is especially true if she has formed an attachment to said cat, as the guilt is then stronger and a guilt trip is ridiculously easy.
She is also quite scared that her family will find her, so she's rather skittish around cats she meets on the street and in the ally.
Describing word: Guilty
History: Charla was born into a large family with several sisters and brothers, that was part of a band of cats that travelled around the UK. Although the travelling was needed considering that the band of cats were pretty much all con artists and theifs, and this was the life that Charla was born into. She stayed with her family, conning other cats and the occasion human when it suited them, and while most of the other cats didn't so much as bat an eye at what they were doing (hey it wasn't their fault the other cats were naive) Charla never felt quite right with how they lived.
Despite her discomfort with the life her family and friends always tried to assuage her guilt, and when that never worked they started to play on the fact that they were family, and you don't leave your family or that they were friends, and friends look out for friends. So she continued to help, conning and stealing as they moved around. Gradually Charla became accustomed to pulling on a mask and putting on an act to most of those she met of a sarcastic brazen street smart queen. This made it a little easier for her to survive the life she was living without being quite as guilt ridden. Occasionally they would come across other bands of cats like themselves and sometimes gain and sometimes lose numbers, eventually most of her sisters and one or two of her brothers left to live their lives with the mates they chose. It was after a tom who had been courting her and how'd seriously asking to take her as a mate that Charla realized that despite all her efforts she really couldn't keep living like she had been. Remembering their travels through London Charla had remembered hearing of the Jellicles, a good tribe. So in the dead of night Charla decided to run, a decision that she'd been conflicted over for months. It was breaking her heart to stay and broke her heart to leave and was still conflicted when she finally arrived at the Junkyard.
RP Sample: Charla listened intently, silently cursing the countryside for its lack of noise. Quietly she picked her way passed the sleeping figures of her tribe, freezing whenever the shadowy figures shifted. She didn't relax until she settled down in an old barn as the sun rose after walking all night. Fatigue was calling her name and she couldn't resist the call of sleep on her body. It wasn't until the sun had set again that Charla opened her eyes and continued on her journey, pausing to orient herself using the stars to make sure she was still heading south. The gray queen was eager to make it to London, the faster she got there meant the less likely her family would find her.
Comments: Due to years of conning, Charla has an uncanny ability to spot a con, and is very good at talking her way out of situations.
