Those words struck Vipurr. She had never done anything in his presence. Maybe she wasn't evil....she has not killed anyone since the warehouse. But what if her past popped back up.
Again Amaury struck her as someone she liked to be around. He was honest...something she was not used too. "I understand...fully. " She said softly. "Well at least on the being 'different' part. I have never been with anyone before. " She admitted. "But I know what you mean, with being different. I don't feel like I could fit in with those yard jellicles either. " She said.

"You've neva' been with anyone? At all? No kisses, touches, anythin'?" Amaury asked, red eyes squinting in her direction. He found that hard to believe. She must have had some sort of interaction with another before - she was far too pretty. Not having sex was one thing, Amaury could get that, but if she hadn't been kissed, well then, that came as quite a surprise to him.
"Its not like ah' don' like em, ya' know? Ah' just haven't warmed up ta' the notion of livin' with em'. Ah' guess tha' jellicles are our only option though - much better than tha' alternative tribe."
Amaury grinned and casted his eyes back towards the sky, sighing deeply. The air was fresh and clean (save for the smoke of the fire), and was totally refreshing when he compared it to the smog of the city. It did his heart good to be in his element again, even if it wasn't the home he knew.
"Ya' know cher, if it wasn't so dreadfully lonely out here, ah'd about have tha' notion to move out here. Much more peaceful, yea?"

Vipurr only flicked her tail at his disbelief. "A lot of females in that particular 'tribe' were not given an option to choose their mate, or fall in love. Quite frankly, at a young age, I became lethal and I used it to my advantage. I had something they could not get without killing me first. None of those toms were decent or loving. They were petty and cruel. " She shrugged "I kept myself and my sister safe from the toms. I had no room in my life for attachments either. You make an attachment, Macavity only found a way to use it against you. " She looked up at the sky as well. "They are much better then the alternative" She agreed knowing the other 'tribe'. "I would rather be out here" She admitted softly.

Initially, as Vipurr told why she had never been with another, the cajun tom grew angry. The idea that someone could treat a queen in that manner was appalling, though Amaury knew not all toms (and queens) were good. He himself wasn't the best "lover" or significant other out there - hell, he wasn't the best tom either, but Amaury wouldn't dream of treating another, let alone a queen in such a distasteful manner.
Nevertheless, his anger faded into pity of sorts, and he regarded her with a worrisome expression, sighing deeply.
"No wonder ya' wanted ta' leave. I don' blame ya' cher," he said softly, red eyes meeting hers. " Even if tha' jellicles aren't what ya' want, we can both agree that they're better. They ain't gonna keep ya' from lovin' another, nor are they gonna do anythin' to ya' that you don' want." The somali gave her a half grin - nothing cheeky or over bearing. It was just a smile to let her know he understood, or was willing to listen.
"Now, ah' know ya' could beat m'ass if ya' wanted, but I'll gladly do what ah' can ta' help ya' out Vipurr. If yer needin' a talk, or a friend, or someone ta' look out for yer back, I'll be around." He meant it, too. She might not want anything to do with him after this night, but he hoped that they'd be friends of sorts, or something. She definitely intrigued him.
"To bad we can't stay out here, yea? Ah'd be happy in a place like this, fo' sure."

She had to admit, this male was growing on her. Something that Vipurr did not usually allow to happen. She always treated others with distrust and suspicion. The thing about Amaury was, he ACCEPTED that trait from her already and seemed as patient as the night was young.
She peered over at him with dark green eyes. The crackling fire put a nice glow on his auburn fur. She gave him a soft smile in return. "You are different from the others.....in a good way" She actually started to draw in the dirt uncomfortably. Trying to find a way to muddle through nice words she was not used to saying.
"I like talking to you..." She admitted. "Being around you" She looked up again, her white tail with scarlet tip flicked beside her. " The same goes for me. I would be...here...for you...you know, for talking, I could watch your back...." Her eyes widened slightly, "I mean...for protection of course...um..it is kind of what I do" She felt like this conversation was all over the place. A sudden thought burst in her mind of what it would be like to sit next to him. She brushed it away quickly. She would not know where to begin.
Shaking her head she took another drink, "Yes....out here is much nicer..." She stammered and took another drink.

Amaury smiled. The sheer fact that she liked him, let alone wanted to be his friend was a huge deal - to him it was. She was unlike any queen that he had ever met, and there was something about her that he found alluring and quite captivating.
"Well den," he sighed, clapping his hands together. "It is settled. Ah will watch yo' back and look out fer ya', and ya' will do tha' same fer me. There is a right nice friendship for ya'." He chuckled, red eyes peering over at her.
He noticed something shift in her mannerism - something small, but a shift nonetheless, and the somali tom tilted his head in curiosity. Whatever the shift was, it made him was to get closer - to try to approach her physically. He'd never do anything to her she didn't want, but there was no harm in sharing the same space, right?
Taking a gulp of his drink, Amaury stood (on wobbly legs), and walked over to her, sitting down on the ground beside her with a smile.
"Got kinda cold ova' there, ya' know. Flames follow beauty, so I'd figured my best bet ta' get warm would be ta' come ta' your side."

At first the dark green eyes that remained slightly hooded, widened when he stood and stumbled over. She took another swig. Heck if she stood, she would probably face plant into the flames. Her pulse quickened when he next to her..was this normal? Usually she would remain cool and collective. However, usually she would have a plan to kill the one approaching her. Was she nervous??
When he made the comment flames followed beauty, she was stuck in the option to laugh because she had heard all the lame pick up lines in her life, and that was the best one, on the other paw, she liked hearing it. From him.
The Somali's cajun accent only added character, she settles for a smile, that she soon tried to hide and hoped he hadn't picked up on it. What the hell was wrong with her?
She felt clueless as to how to proceed on his actions. She had to admit, he warmth was welcoming. Dare she say, she liked it. He was easy to get along with.
" Why is it I feel like I can relate to you?" She blurted. Her dark green eyes widened and she looked at him and covered her mouth. She had not meant to say that out loud. "I...uh..I mean..." She looked down at the bottle she had, it was half gone. "I think I had enough" She set her elbows on her knees and head in her palms. Her ears and flicking white tail telegraphing her embarrassment.

Well, she hadn’t slapped him away - that was a plus. Naturally Amaury was somewhat tense sitting down beside her, no matter how relaxed his face seemed. He didn’t want to over step any boundaries, and since she was cautious of others, he knew he had to be extra careful when it came to touching or interacting with her. In other words, Amaury figured it’d be smart to let her make the calls on physical interaction, though he wasn’t known for making the best decisions...
Looking over at her, the cajun smiled, shoulders finally slouching when she seemingly allowed him to be next to her. He chuckled out her out burst, though his laugh quickly died off, a sincere grin taking its place.
“Don’t need ta’ feel ashamed of that, cher,” he began, leaning back on his arms. “Ah feel tha’ same way. Yer easy ta’ be around. I guess it’s cause we’re both different...loners really. We don’ belong ta’ no one, so in a sense, we can belong ta’ one anotha’, ya’ know?”
There were no underlying meanings beneath his words, nor was he trying to hint to anything. He was just trying to let her know that her feelings were reciprocated. He liked Vipurr, a lot, and he felt at ease with her more so than he did with anyone he had met in London so far. She was a kindred spirit in a way, and Amaury was sincerely glad he had met her.

Vipurr didn't feel like so much of an idiot now. She let out a soft breath and took another drink of the vodka. She had to admit she liked not feeling so tense. The vodka helped a bit, but after getting to know the Somali male, she thought, she may even like him sober.
"You have a point..." She said slowly. She glanced over at him. Her eyes were glassy from being a tad overserved. It was nice to have someone to think about, care about.
"Since Carnivallie came into my sisters life..it got...real lonely real quick.." What was she doing? Telling him all her most intimate thoughts...but he told her his...so this was even right? Thats how this friend thing worked. "Sorry" She shook her head, "You don't need that kind of talk burdening this evening.." She could smack herself if she could figure out which of the two right hands was her real one.

Amaury shook his head, reaching out without any second thought and patting her hand gently.
“Nah,” He began, pursing his lower lip, “Ya’ don’ need ta’ apologize fer that. Ah’ understand.” Her sister finding a mate was a change. It was a good change, possibly, but whereas Vipurr and her sister only had each other before, now they were becoming more independent and going down different paths.
“It is natural ta’ feel abit out of sorts without her, ah’m sure. Ah’ miss my sister,” He said without any sort of hesitation. He missed a lot, really. The thing that scared him the most was the possibility of never seeing his family again, but he tried not to dwell on it, let alone bring it up anymore than he already had. He didn’t want to depress her, because heavyside knows she was stressed out as well.
“Trust me though,” Amaury turned to look at her, trying to rid his head of any bubbling thoughts of his family. “Ya’ ain’t alone. We’re friends, yeah? Ah’m here cher.”

Vipurr revealed a smile to him. She then noticed the fire dying.. "Looks like we need some more kindling" She sat her vodka down by the tree she was sitting against. Careful not to invade Amaury's personal space to much, she tried to stand. She was only half way to her standing position before her world started spinning. "Whoa!" She stumbled over who knows what and landed in the toms lap. After the world stopped shaking she realized what happened. "Oh ...crap.. sorry..are you okay?" She asked, then a smile crept over her face, and a noise filled the air, that Vipurr had not heard herself since she was a kitten. She started to laugh.

“Lets kindle away then...” Amaury murmured, his eyes showing vague interest in the fire. Instead, his eyes were focused elsewhere. As good and as kind hearted of a tom that he was, Amaury was still just that - a tom. He couldn’t help where his eyes wandered, nor the brief but admitable thoughts that ran through his mind. Especially now that he was tipsy. He was far more bold and less conservative with his thoughts and gestures.
Nevertheless, Amaury didn’t need to do much. Alcohol and gravity were on his side.
With a lap full of a pretty queen, the cajun smiled and chuckled brightly, reaching out to help her with one hand, while the other hand gently stroked a finger across her cheek. “Corse’ ah’m alright cher. If ya’ only knew how many times ah’ve fallen ova’ m’self, though, Ah will say dat dis is tha’ first time ah’ve been tha’ cushion. Ah’ ain’t usually on tha’ bottom,” he said, setting his bottle of bourbon to the side.
“Tha’ question is though, are you okay?”

Vipurr stopped laughing when she realized where she was. In the lap of a tom. She wasn't sure if she should scramble off of him, or.....stay where she was. This was very unlike her and her mind kept telling her this. Yet, she dared to test the limits.
"I...I'm alright" Her dark green eyes looked into his rustic ones. A connection was formed in that moment. The white and scarlet princess had no idea what to do with it either. Unable to tear her eyes away, she at least had to come up with something to say. Then his tender touch on her cheek. She did not recoil, or break his hand. She let him touch her cheek. Surprisingly she was ok with it.
"Um....you're a comfy...cushion" She hesitated on the last word realizing how stupid it sounded. She laughed lightly again.. "I'm sorry...That came out...well..just stupid" She chuckled again.

The fact that she didn’t jump off him nor shove his hand away surprised Amaury - pleasantly so. The cajun tom smiled, and his eyes locked with hers, and something at that moment made his heart flutter.
“Nah, you’re fine,” he said, clearing his throat. “You are perfectly fine where ya’ are Vipurr. Ya’ don’ have ta’ move.” The rustic tom adjusted himself, his hand leaving her cheek to gently slide down her back and across her hip in a gentle hold. He liked the feeling of someone near him. He had been deprived of physical contact for so long, (other than the brief hugs and pats of his cousin), so her letting him touch her and vice versa was refreshing.
“This might be a bit forward, and Ah’ don’ wanna make things awkward, but if yer’ okay with it, Ah’d like ta’ kiss ya’ if that’s alright by you.” Amaury wasn’t good and subduing his emotions or wants when he was just a tad bit tipsy. He just hoped he wasn’t pushing to hard or stepping over any boundaries. He was just acting in the moment, and with her this close to him, he was getting a bit brave.

Perhaps it was her tipsy judgment, or maybe she really wanted to know what it was to kiss someone. Vipurr wanted it to be with Amaury. She looked down at his chest then back up at him. She was not sure how to do it. Quietly she nodded and her eyes darted from his lips back to his eyes several times. She actually liked him this close to her. She ....trusted the Somali male.
