"It'll do? It'll do! Hell yeah it will cher! Best dag'gum vodka in da' store!" He exclaimed, following her out. The Somali tucked his own drink under his arm as he trudged along. Every now and then he'd take a sip, but he wanted to save the majority of it for the woods, or where ever she was taking him. He wanted to wait until he could relax.
"So, how far way' is dis place? Not to far ah' hope. Ah hate ta' whine, ah really do, but lawl darlin', m'feet hurt." Lord, he sounded like his mother. He knew he did.

Vipurr almost laughed when Amaury complained. She actually had to cover her mouth to stop herself. Once she recovered she looked back over her shoulder. "Yes we are almost there" She led him into the woods just outside of the town. It was about twenty minutes more before she felt they were far enough into the woods to stop. Gathering some kindling, she easily made a fire. On all fours she softly blew on the kindling. When it ignited she sat back and threw more sticks on it. Building a decent sized flame, it was enough to keep them both warm. She sat back with her vodka and stared at the flames. Not yet taking a sip. She blinked out of her stare "Better?" She asked raising an elegant eyebrow at him

Amaury knew his whining was considerably pitiful - but his feet did hurt. It wasn't long before they made it to the woods, and as soon as his feet touched soil, Amaury audibly sighed. A bright smile spread across his face, and once the the fire had been made, he unceremoniously flopped against the earth, nuzzling his cheek into the dirt.
It was wild how much he missed this - the smells, sounds, and the feel of untouched earth. It made him insanely happy, and Amaury nodded over at Vipurr.
"Much betta', thank ya' fer bringing me here," He breathed, taking a gulp of his bourbon. "It really...does good fer m'soul. Reminds me of home, ya' know?"

Vipurr didn't really know what home felt like. She grew very quiet at the comment. She popped open her drink again and poured it into the shot glasses she took. She rolled one over to Amaury. She only got one if he wanted it. She preferred not to be so vulnerable while holding that big bottle up in the air. The glass allowed her to watch everything around her. Taking it to her lips she drank the liquid, cold at first but then it warmed her throat and stomach.Once she took a few drinks she felt slightly calmer. She looked up at Amaury through the fire. "What is home supposed to feel like?" She asked in an alto voice.

Amaury waved the shot glass off, returning it to her side with another roll. It was hers, and he was accustomed to just the bottle. Everyone drank differently, and although his style was considered sloppy, it was what he was most comfortable with.
Tilting his head, Amaury's eyebrows creased at her question, and he spun his bottle absent mindedly against the dirt.
"Well…" He began, somewhat confused by the question, and as to why she didn't know, "Home ah' suppose, is where eva' ya' feel comfortable and safe at," he began, red eyes glancing over at her. "Ya' not suppose ta' feel out of place there. Some find that another person can be considered home for them, like mates, ya' know? But it just depends on tha' person and how they interpret tha' word."
Amaury wasn't the best at explaining things, but he tried.
The somali took another deep swig of the drink, letting the burning sensation wash down his throat. With an "Ahh", he plucked the bottle away and whipped at his mouth, smirking.
"Ah' like it out here though. Ain't no one around, it's quiet, and ah' got good company. All I eva' need."

He had explained it just perfectly for Vipurr. She took another drink. She supposed she would probably never know that 'safe' feeling. As far as out of place, she felt like that everywhere....except...here. "I like it out here too. " She said somberly.
"The yard is safe for my sister. That is her home. She has her future mate. It is all she needs. " Vipurr poured another glass. She was unsure how to feel. Her whole life she kept her sister safe. Now her goal had finally been met, and she was lost.
"Are we all supposed to feel at 'home' there?" She asked. Afterall he had been in the yard longer then she had.

Amaury shrugged, his brow creasing as the question rolled over his brain continuously.
"Ah' don' know," he sighed, rubbing his fingers against the sand like dirt. "Ah' don' feel particularly at home there but ah' ain't got a choice. M'cousin is there too, and m'humans accidentally left me here in London. Long stoe'ry. Anyway, tha' junkyard is betta' than nothin' ah' suppose. Betta' then some places round dis city. It' ain't home, but Ah' like ta' consida' it tha' nice hotel ya' visit on out o' town visits. Not home - but home enough."
Once again, Amaury knew he was probably confusing her, but sometimes when he had to tap into truthful emotions, he didn't much make sense - not even to him.
Blinking, the somali looked across the way at her, feeling as if they purposefully placed themselves at opposite ends of the fire. Oh well.
"Yo' sista', who is she goin' with?" He asked, head tilting slightly in curiosity.

Vipurr looked up at Amaury. Why the sudden question about her sister. Again, the princess reminded herself Amaury was not a threat. "Coupling is not something I am familiar with , but she tends to spend a lot of time with someone we met on our way to the yard. A Persian named Carnivallie. " She shrugged, " I guess that means she is 'going' with him" Vipurr felt confused with her feelings on Carnie. She was greatful to him for saving her life, yet resentful for the way he was moving in on her sister. But the smile she wore when he was around, she hated to see that smile leave.

Amaury pursed his lips in thought, red eyes dimming as he tried to put a face to the name "Carnivallie," however he was having no luck. The cajun shrugged.
"Ah don' think ah've met tha' guy ta' be honest. But, " he paused, rubbing the back of his hand against his lips, "If he treats her good, and ya' like em', ah' guess he'd be a keeper, eh?" Liking a family member's significant other was key, especially when it came to a future brother in law or sister in law. Vipurr needed to trust the Carnivallie, better yet, he needed to take care of her sister.
"What bought you though?" Amaury asked, his boldness coming in waves as he sipped at his bourbon. "Ah' know ya' ain't got interest in jellicle toms er' what not, but da' ya' find yer'self fancyin' anotha?" The somali tilted his head with an inquisitive grin, spine popping as he shifted his position.

Her dark green eyes shot up at the rust colored southern male. What brought her here? Did he have all night? Not that she would tell him anyway. At least no details. "I was brought her for healing, Carnie brought us. I don't allow myself to feel things for others. In my line of work, they usually ended up dead anyway" She said rather bluntly yet dryly. "That Tugger sure had himself worked up. " She finally grinned at her memory. "But he soon found out how much I cared for his manner once he hit the dirt" She finished. The white and scarlet princess was quite proud of what she did to the vested leopard male. She sobered after a moment. Vipurr truly thought about the whole mate thing. She was so unaware how to even proceed to court another jellicle. "I would not even know how to tell if another jellicle is trying to court or throwing hints. Tugger was obvious, but also obnoxious." She leaned back and took another drink of her vodka Amaury had picked for her.

Amaury made a face. His nose scrunched and a single eyebrow rose - face teetering on amusment and baflement.
"You an' Tugga'? Or should ah' say *tha* Tugga." The cajun smirked and propped his body up with one arm, teeth clicking together in a broad smile. "Now, was dat yer idea or his? Or was he just flirtin'? Ah' know he flirts a lot, but did ya' give in cher?" He asked, voice raising in interest.
"And ah' didn't know ya' was a healer. Good on ya'."
Amaury leaned back, not being able to keep one pose or stance for so long due to the affects of alcohol, or ADHD, one. It was either or, or possibly a little bit of both. He huffed though, one hand resting on his chest as he looked upwards, eyes scanning the tree line. "Ah' will admit, ah' had someone back home, tom actually, girly lookin' tom, but he was...he made me feel good. Long time go' now it seems."

Vipurr shook her head and only smiled. "You maybe might want to slow down. " She was relaxing and almost chuckled. "I am not a healer, I was brought here to be healed. I was barely out of Jenny's care with that stupid Maine Coon started hitting on me. I flipped him over my shoulder and made his kiss the dirt. Actually....." She was thoroughly amused by this "I almost killed him. I had my claws at his throat" She shook her head. "So anyway, no I did not give in, both times he tried. I simply put him in his arrogant place. I have dealt with toms larger then him before. Put them in their smug place as well. " She was proud of keeping her innocence so long. Especially in a world where toms thought they had a right to it.
She looked up at Amaury. He just told her a very intimate part of his life. It was sad to be honest. "What was his name?" She asked softly. She really didn't understand the benefits of having a mate, but she would try.

Amaury smirked at her story, nodding his head briefly at her assessment of Tugger. He was a persistent bugger after all - whether or not that trait was considered an admirable one or not.
“Ah am sure ya’ have,” He mused, chuckling as his eyes bobbed from her to the trees. It seemed he enjoyed looking at the trees, and the stars beyond them. “Yer a pretty lady, if ya’ don’ mind me sayin’. Although Ah’ don’ wish any males ta’ be botherin’ ya’, ah’m not surprised by their persistence at all, cher.”
It was true. Vipurr was very pretty - gorgeous even. What made her even more so was her “forbidden fruit” vibe. She was untouchable, and Amaury figured that any sort of physicalities had to be on her terms. That was why he kept his space. He didn’t want any broken bones, not did he want to loose her trust. Plus, despite his many flaws, he’d like to think he was a decent, respectable tom.
Amaury’s smile faded at the mention of “him,” though not completely. Reminising, although bitter sweet, did bring about good memories.
“His name was...is Tomio. Cute little bengal tom. Told em’ I’d be back, ya’ know - I just thought me comin’ here with m’human would be like a vacation. he thought that too. He..He must think ah’m dead, since I got left here n’all. He’s probably moved on too. Don’ blame him.”

Vipurr did not think she was pretty. She was a monster. She had in her heart long ago that she was never worthy of someone to actually love her. She looked ashamed when he said she was pretty.
"There is a lot about me, that make me as ugly as Tugger's personality. " She said softly. Looking down at her drink she too another sip. How long would it take before she felt free? She felt groggy, maybe a little tipsey, but not free.
"He sounds like he was wonderful" She said about Tomio. "I'm sorry you are apart. "She looked up at him, "Have you moved on at all?" She asked as the fire crackled. Oddly, it was such a relaxing sound.

"Well," Amaury began, exhaling slowly. "Ah think yer' pretty. Plus, ya' ain't done anythin' in my presence fer' me ta' think any less of ya'." Whatever she had done in her past, Amaury really different care. A past was a past, and linger to much in it could only cause one harm.
Tilting his head, Amaury shifted so that he rested it on his arm. "Ya' mean been with otha's?" The cajun blinked quizzically, chewing his lower lip in thought. "Nah, not really. Ah' mean, ah've drunk kissed a few toms and queens here and there, but ah' ain't given m'self fully to another' since him. Ah'm kinda scared ta', ya' know?" He huffed and tried to sit up, though he did so far more quickly than he should have, and lowered himself back down before the world began to spin.
Amaury wasn't "drunk" by his standards, but he was starting to get a buzz. He could tell by the look in her eyes that she felt it as well.
"Ah'm reluctant because who knows where ah'll be in a few years. Ah' could still be here, or miraculously, Ah' could find m'way back ta' m'family. Plus, ain't nobody really warmed up ta' me here yet. Ah' guess different ain't wanted…"
