Anna sat for a long moment, looking at him before making a soft sound and looking down. "Half brother, huh?"
She smiled, "I have one too...his name is Louis." Her smile, if he could read her features, sang that she missed him dearly. Louis and Annabella grew up at the hip. They loved each other dearly and sometimes were mistaken as twins when they were younger. But Louis...
Louis went against their father, tried to take his business out from under him. He succedded in a way. To shut Louis up about singing that he was his son, Harris gave Louis nearly half of what he owned. Louis owned the underground of most of France, and possibly more.
Finally, she turned back to Cori. "Why didn't your sister come with you...when you left. If you and Macavity are brothers, then she must be related as well." She tilted, "Why did she stay when you left?"

Coricopat nodded and hummed, cocking his head slightly. "Something in common then. Technically, I have three half brothers, and my twin." Coricopat wasn't especially close with any of his brothers, but there was somewhat of a bond, and despite their differences, they all acknowledged it one way or another. Between some, it was a love hate relationship while he tolerated others.
His eyes met hers sharply, and for a moment, Cori didn't respond. He weighed the answer in his head before he finally sighed and shrugged, looking at the wall ahead of him.
"She didn't agree with my decision to leave. She's still not happy, but, there is nothing either of us can or will do. Despite our similarities, we are different."

Anna's face remained calm when he met her gaze. Though his eyes were sharp, her remained interested. She gave him a soft smile when he looked her way, then looked down at her books and rubbed her hand over the top one's binding.
"Aye, I know how that feels..." She looked up at him, "But of course your different. I would imagine that's what makes you sort of anomoly of sorts."
She leaned back against the wall, "Louis and I...we don't always see...eye to eye so to speak."

Cori's ears twitched slightly and his arms stretched upwards, his spine popping a few times before he relaxed against the wall again. "Hmmm, that is usually the case," He replied as she mentioned her half brother once more. "Half siblings rarely have much in common. But," Cori paused, wetting his lips and breathing inwardly, "I suppose that is what makes your relationship with him special. You'll always have your differences, but you are blood, so that counts for something."
Cori never really applied that to his own story. Each of his half siblings shared different mothers - only Deuteronomy was their link. None of them looked alike either.
"Where does your half brother live? In he still here, in London?" Coricopat asked her, leaning forwards against his knees.

Annabella shook her head, looking down. "No...he's so preoccupied running his business from out of France I never see him anymore." She looked at him.
"I'm not from London, but you could probably tell that. My mother and his mother are sisters, that's why we look so much alike. My father..." She laughed, "My father just couldn't pick I guess...so my mother had me in Scotland and my Aunt had Louis back home in France."
She missed her mother. Molly was an ecentric woman to say the least. She had to be to keep the life she had in her dancing. But now, she settled with fashion. Helping humans and cats alike look beautiful. She was a beautiful woman of long, chocolate brown fur and beautiful blue eyes. Annabella always admired her, loved to watch her dance when she found the time around all her schoolwork and music recitals.
Most people said she looked exactly like her mother, but she didn't see it. Her mother was gorgous. She was just...she was just...
She looked up and smiled, "Will I ever get to meet your sister?"

"A spread out family then..." Cori mused, trying to connect the dots with the information she provided him. England, Scotland, France; a good chunk of Europe.
Tilting his head, Cori's jaw tightened and he sighed. "No, probably not," Coricopat shook his head, folding his hands together. "She stays within Jellicle territory for the most part, and if Macavity caught wind of you even in that general vicinity, well, it won't be good." Tantomile never ventured his way either. When they met, they did so privately in an alley way, or in a hollowed out tree in the park. They were very discrete about it.
"Our markings mirror one another. We are identical save for our genders." Cori added, though he failed to mention how different they were personality wise.

Anna looked at him and smiled, "But I'm guessing very different otherwise." She leaned back, "Otherwise, she'd be here, I'm guessing." She smiled more, then stopped, before turning to gaze down the hall.
"Do you miss her?" She finally asked, looking back at him.

"MMmm, yes," Cori mused. He couldn't count their differences on his fingers. But, at the same time, Coricopat was well aware of his and Tantomile's similarities. They were prominent traits, and not likely ones to be overlooked.
When Anna asked him again about his sister, the dark tom neither nodded or shook his head. Of course he missed her, but he refrained from thinking about it to much. It often made him rethink his current situation, and Coricopat knew that going back to the jellicles wasn't an option. He was stuck where he was, and that was that.
Nevertheless, he was well aware that Anna awaited and answer. "Yes, I do. Sometimes," he shrugged his shoulders, not going into detail.

Anna paused, watching him for a moment, before swallowing. "Why don't you leave?"

Shifting his gaze towards Anna, Cori squinted and huffed. "It is easier said then done." Yes, Cori COULD leave, but he'd have to live the rest of his life looking over his shoulder, waiting for the inevitable. Macavity or his army of goons would eventually find him, and Cori didn't have a death wish.
He figured he could flee the country though, but that would mean he'd never see his sister again.
Standing up, Cori stretched and glanced towards the door, already tired of the black nothingness that was Macavity's warehouse.
"I was thinking about stepping outside briefly, care to come?" He didn't plan on going far - just outside.

Annabella's eyes met his for a moment. She could help him, if he truly wanted to leave. She could ask her father to help keep him safe. Surely Macavity wouldn't be /stupid/ enough to go after Harris Ramsey, would he?
She stood up and smiled, setting her books down, "I'd love to." She pat the top of the first pook and grabbed the map from out of the cover. "Can't forget this, can I?" She said, looking back up at him.

Cori smirked ever so slightly as she grabbed the map, and he shook his head.
"Don't worry, I know where we are going. Just memorize things with your eyes, they are far more efficient than any map." Cori said, motioning for her to follow him. The dark tom leg her around the corner, his eyes sweeping across the room before they proceeded. Once satisfied with the "density" of the room, Cori walked across the hall to the door that led out of the warehouse, glancing up at the big tom that guarded it.
"We are stepping out for a bit of fresh air. Care to let us pass?" He asked softly, eyeing the muscular tom. The tom cut his eyes at Coricopat and Anna, but said nothing save for a grunt before he moved out of the way.

Anna stared up at the tom and smiled, "Thank you." She nodded before following Coricopat out.
It had been weeks since she had been outside and let out a gasp from the cold air. "O-oh..." She looked up at the sky and blinked, "Is it nightime already?" She observed.

Cori wasn't as polite to the buff tom as Anna was. Instead of replying as she did, Cori only nodded as he passed, eyeing the large brute carefully to make sure he didn't "try" anything. Nevertheless, once outside, Cori's eyes glanced over the clear night sky and his eyebrows raised.
"I suppose so. Time seems to pass you by when you hang in that place all day." He said softly, vaguely aware of the puffs of breath that clouded his vision slightly. "it is refreshing though, is it not? Nothing better than this..."

Anna stared for a few more minutes before turning to look at Coricopat. Watching him for a moment, she finally smiled and tilted her head. She didn't say anything however.
In the short time she knew Coricopat, she learned he probably prefered silence to idle chit chat. If the conversation wasn't meaningful, he probably wouldn't have prefered to have it. She rubbed her arms and let the shiver run up her spine.
"Aye...it is."
