Yin
female
Adolescent
none I'd prefer Jellicle
Tribe Position: uninitiated
Family: mother, brother, sister
Appearance: all-black cat, leggy, with tiny single-hair flecks of white here and there - not noticeable at a conversational distance. When groomed, my undercoat is a dark grey.
Personality: Young, untried, innocent. Experiences all come from a different environment than "London street". She's curious about everything and is just a little bit too open and friendly. She's little too trusting (she will outgrow that) and a trifle over-emotional (like any teenage girl). She tends to have a positive outlook in life, and enjoys sarcasm as a hobby. She regards herself as a good hunter because, one afternoon, she caught *three* houseflies AND a butterfly.
Faults: She cherishes a grudge, She is ignorant and she has no idea HOW ignorant. She is young, a little over-emotional, and believes she knows it all. (She doesn't) She's been "fixed" as part of a catch and release program for strays that she accidentally got caught up in, stateside, so she is also missing roughly half an inch of her left ear. she isn't a mighty hunter, is a little clumsy, and gets lost pretty easily. She is likely to tend to trust other cats, even where she probably shouldn't. She is also likely to ask questions or even babble about things that most people wouldn't, so she can't really keep a secret unless specifically told to do so.
she, at the moment, has a little limp, because she landed wrong while jumping out a 3rd story window. While this will heal nicely, it is highly likely that she will land badly again sometime in the near future and end up with a different lame leg, or a small cut somewhere, or some other minor bruising.
She hasn't the least idea how to fight, and isn't sure why one would do so. She can't do anything magical at all.
Describing word: Coltish
History: She was born in a fairly comfortable household, and saw her first veterinarian at 5 weeks. Mom took good care of her kittens, as did the "owner", who, when Yin was six months old, got a job here in England. Yin was good at sneaking out of the house about once a week back home, in America, and had a lot of fun in the grassy lot next to my home. Here in England, this is the first time she has gotten "out". She has had a comfortable middle class upbringing (She didn't eat fancy feast out of a crystal bowl, but ahw didn't have to catch her own dinner, either!). She likes to be petted and called a pretty kitty, but she just KNOWS that there is more fun to be had just around the corner. Her family is considerably less adventurous than she is. She's had her shots, experienced the indignity of both a carry-box AND a thermometer, but hasn't gotten the real experience any adult here in game would have.
RP Sample:Yin enters the flower-bedecked room cautiously, noticing her brother and sister are still asleep in the padded, lace-bedecked box provided for the purpose. She crosses to the window, where the curtains moved encouragingly with the breeze. Looking out the half-open window, she notices the complete lack of screen or other preventative measure. She ducks her head under the curtain and breathes in deeply, smelling a whole plethora of new scents. Taking a final glance back at her snoozing siblings, she gathers her feet around her and jumps out the window. Landing with very little grace and with a bit more of a bump than she was prepared for, Yin pauses a moment to lick her paw and wipe at her face, surreptitiously glancing around to see if anyone noticed. Then, satisfied with herself, she almost prances to the end of the block and ducks around the corner, eager to see what there is to see in this new place.
Comments ((OOC ASIDE:))
Due to a profound level of upset in my husband at the idea of anything of "that" nature taking place with any online persona of mine, Yin has been spayed. She has never had kittens, and really doesn't quite understand why she would want to.
