Demeter had no choice but to recompose herself. She was not the same queen anymore that was easily jittered into submission. She knew his tricks and mind games now. She was determined not to let him frighten her. Her bravery was hanging on by a thread. She was thankful that Rumpus was offering a compromise because this was not going well.
She folded her arms over her chest and gave the black male her attention. "I am open for an idea Rumpus" Her sultry low alto rang on both regal and respectful.

Rumpus bowed his head slightly to both Macavity and Demeter, in respect. He didn't want Macavity to look like someone, like Rumpus, could influence his mood or his decisions; especially if another hench were to walk by. Which is sort of the reason he gave Demeter the same level of respect. He also didn't want to reveal just how high up he was in the Hench order, or how much Macavity did trust him.
He knew Demeter would no doubt tell all the jellicles, that not only was he a hench but had Macavity's ear from time to time. And he wasn't ready for all that to be revealed just yet, but he also knew he couldn't stop Demeter if she truly wanted to tell all her friends about him. Rumpus could only hope that Demeter would be too scared or ashamed to tell her friends she went to see Macavity, and therefore his lifestyle would remain secret for just a little bit longer.
"Might I be so bold? I don't pretend to know what happened to you two in the past, but you've traumatized the queen quite enough. Of course she would be conflicted between her own safety and happiness, as well as her feelings for you. I, and you yourself cannot blame her for leaving so many times. You cannot remain blameless." He gestured, hoping that he'd at least keep his mouth closed, until Rumpus was finished. And he hoped Macavity, and even Demeter, would realize that it took two to make or break a relationship.
That's when his eyes shifted towards Demeter. "With that said, Lady Demeter, you need to place yourself in Macavity's place. He runs his own tribe, and does have a lot of responsibilities and stress. You ended up leaving him, a few times. With good reason, or not, Macavity does have reason to suspect that you might just be here to screw with him or this tribe. Whether that is true or not does not matter. As a leader, I suspect he is cautious and leery." He took a breath, having only tried explaining the situation, leaving his compromise at the end.
"What I am proposing, is a clean slate. You guys can keep your complicated history if it makes you feel better, or move past it. If you start with a clean slate, you Macavity can give her a chance without your past emotions clouding your judgement. And Demeter, how about you offer to run an errand in order to show Macavity that you're here for you, not the other Jellicles. It could be the best way, for you both to move on from your past.
I'm not suggesting this will be the start of you two repairing your relationship and getting back together. That's not for me to judge, but even if you two don't repair your relationship, I think this way you two will both be able to move on from each other. It might do you both good in the long run. Again though, this is up to you both. I cannot decide for either of you..."
His voice trailed off as he waited for their response to his compromise. Though he did make it clear to Demeter, in his body language, that he was prepared to escort her back to the junkyard if she felt his compromise wasn't good enough or if she was just too uncomfortable.

Macavity had to actually concentrate a bit to keep the amused smirk that was trying to work its way onto his face at Rumpus' formality. Luckily he was able to school his features into staying mostly neutral.
It was no surprise to the ginger tom that it was taking Rumpus, a level headed third party for this meeting to actually work properly and not emotionally explode. And keeping his mouth firmly shut in anything in regards to their past relationship was the smart and beneficial thing to do so Mac simply stayed silent, his eyes flickering between Rumpus and Demeter throughout the black tom's speech. It was no surprise that Rumpus was able to articulate both perspectives without seeming to validate either. They were simply stated. Advantageous to the entire situation and meant that something might actually get done, especially since Macavity was sure it would have taken some convincing by Rumpus to have even gotten Demeter here.
He nodded, mind turning over different responses. The clean slate idea would no doubt be much easier said then done, so much had occurred in the past and both had grown since. No matter the decision on that Macavity knew that he'd have to be cynical and attempt to be level headed if anything actually did come of this. Plus running errands was rather standard for new henches and Rumpus was right - it would go a long way in convincing him that Demeter wasn't here on some half baked Jellicle plan. "I see nothing objectionable. Exceptional Rumpus."

Amber eyes took in both toms as Rumpus spoke. Yes part of the relationship was her fault. She had become to timid and weak to stand up to Macavity for what he had done to her. Although she was not the same gullible queen she once was. She had grown. However she hated the way the jellicles stared at her, or quit talking when she would enter a room. She was constantly the topic of conversation, especially now that so many jellicles left the yard and now queens were being snatched. Demeter knew the queen snatching was not quite Macavity's style. If he wanted something, he made it blatantly known. Like he did at the ball the year he almost took her again. In her mind, she would not need to fear being hunted to taken, she was already here. She would be able to deal with the Henches because she had before. They did not scare her like they used to. Nor would they dare touch her because she would be one of them. No matter how Demeter weighed it, she would be better off at the warehouse. Rumpus's compromise seemed fair. Clean slate. She would never forget what Macavity had done to her. The heinous, depraved things he had done, but she was ready now. She would be able to take care of herself. "I believe his compromise is more than fair" Demeter held her head high. She was holding up her body language as well. She knew Rumpus was there to make her feel comfortable. She appreciated that. She stood proudly, elegantly. She was not a spy for the jellicles. She was acting on her own behalf.

Rumpus had felt on edge, as he continued to look between the pair. He knew he could count on Macavity, at least for his compromise. If it had helped with any of his future plans, Rumpus knew he could count on Macavit'y support, and it was true for him as well. He supported Macavity in all of his endeavors, he just hoped Macavity knew this.
It really just came down to Demeter and her choice. She spoke within reason, but to Rumpus it felt like he had been hanging on for days. With a relieved sag of his shoulders, he glanced at Macavity.
"Then its decided. A clean slate, and a compromise." He thought for a second before he began to speak once more, his posture(aside from the slight sag) had not changed from its rigid and respectable position. "Which errand would you suggest Maccy? This is more your territory now. I'm just here for support." He didn't specify the support, leaving that open-ended as well.

Well Macavity had to admit that that had certainly been rather easy once the situation was stated from a third party. The ginger tom was actually mildly surprised at that. Although that was another Jellicle now part of his tribe, and at this point his Henches were probably having a time figuring out who was part of them and who was actually still a Jellicle. A fleeting idea of a public roster flitted across his mind - it would make things easier, a more simple way of keeping track of whom was now a Hench and who could be attacked.
Macavity was rather impressed with both cats before him - Rumpus for his impressive ability to first get Demeter here and then to sort out the muddled mess of their perspectives and Demeter for not appearing to be weak, her head high and once again an elegant queen.
Once again taking note of Rumpus' rigid posture, Macavity one again gently and discretely brushed his tail again the dark tom. Refocusing on Demeter, he nodded slightly lips twitching at being called Maccy. An errand that would help ease his mind about Demeter being here for herself. He contemplated, allowing different possibilities to run through his mind trying to find one that would be better suited for the golden queen rather than some lower Hench. Then suddenly Macavity remember the mystic that the Jellicles had acquired.
"My sources have informed me about a newer mystic within the Jellicles. Gilbert I believe. What have you heard of him?" He inquired, hoping that Demeter would be familiar with the cat which gave way to the possibility of getting the cat into Hench territory.

The gold and black queen felt something in her as Macavity talked to her like this. This business like manner. It felt strangely titillating. Her amber eyes never lost her focus but her tail did flick. She was curious what Macavity would want with Gilbert. He was hardly a decent mystic. She would be honest about it to. "Gilbert...well skittish, hates being touched. Rather broody. His power stems from touch. Once someone touches him, he is a jibbering mess for hours. He sometimes talks like the cat he touched. Tugger is actually the only one that I know that got very close to him. He trusts Tugger for some reason. I heard someone say he absorbs memories. Sometimes the ones, you don't wish to get out. He can't control it either. I think it physically hurts him. " Demeter felt sorry for the tom. "He is uncontrolled, certainly not coherent when his power is in effect. " She looked up at the ginger male. She knew he would only ask to see if it would benefit him to somehow obtain the tom and use him. "He is loyal to the jellicles Macavity, mostly to Tugger, I don't know why you would want him. His power is uncontrollable. Even Krystalle tried to help him. Nothing seems to work. Tugger I think just tried to adapt to the power which formed the trust between them." She was giving up a lot of information, but she knew a lot about the tribe. She had been there so long, and was a quiet spectator as she hid from their pitying eyes.

Rumpus felt the touch of Macavity's tail and though was grateful, he did not let it show in his face. He was paying attention to Demeter's information on Gilbert, at least he was mostly paying attention. The rest of his thoughts were on Macavity and his casual and discreet gestures. He was under the impression that they were just goofing around, and seeking sexual pleasure in each other when they wanted or needed it. Rumpus thought that meant just that, no other affection, no matter how small, was not going to be shown. Yet, this was the second time he felt that soft, but incredibly sweet affection brush the inside of his calf.
The tall black tom didn't know what they signified, if anything. And perhaps he was reading too much into all of Macavity's looks and gestures. Still, he couldn't deny the slow building arousal that all of Macavity's signals were starting to invoke in him. It wasn't enough to really be scented off of him, not yet. But he did take a step backward from the two others, before his thoughts did take off. Before Macavity's presence and own scent fueled more fantasies and emotions from him. Once Demeter was done talking he gave a brief nod, to acknowledge the value of her intel. However, even an uncontrolled telepath had its uses, and might even be of bigger value.
The tom would be able to learn more about others, without meaning to, and Macavity and the henches would have the perfect alibi. Gilbert would learn things on his own, without them doing a thing and without them being suspected of forcing it of him. He wasn't sure if Demeter genuinely believed Gilbert was of no use and should be dismissed or if she had a soft spot for the tom and was trying to protect him by undervaluing him. Rumpus, with his subtle tact slipped in a offer. "Well Macavity, we have some pretty strong mystics in the tribe. If the Jellicles can't or won't help him. Perhaps we...could extend him an offer to help him learn how to control his power. In exchange for a small favor down the road. Demeter could go in search for him and offer the deal to him, if he'll agree to a meeting with you of course. If I'm not being to bold Maccy."

Well another uncontrolled mystic resided in the Jellicle tribe, well that was amusing and something to file away for later. Macavity was silent, turning over Demeter's words and examining them several times to extract the most useful information. Absorbing memories, especially those most cats didn't want want, well well that definitely could be useful. That is if Gilbert absorbed the right ones, even if they weren't useful memories at first glance it would still be both interesting and a further way to observe the tribe and one that would be less of a risk to his Henches. And if he happened to have touched one of his siblings it'd be easy to goad them in a confrontation which could be an advantage as they got riled up while he'd be calmer.
Absently he nodded to both cats in front of him, now taking in Rumpus' suggestion. Another extended paw in offering help. So far it'd worked in their favour even if Gilbert didn't actively work for them, although if he was attached to Tugger persuasion would be that much easier.
A smile tugged at his lips. "It wouldn't be the first offer we'd presented to a Jellicle mystic, even just his removal from the Junkyard would be beneficial to us. And if he is attached to Tugger as you say Deme, then I'm sure he'd be very interested in the fact that the last time my half brother was seen was in the Warehouse with quite the injury. I'm sure that will hasten his arrival here. And no harm will come to him naturally if he arrives with a Hench." He spoke with a pointed look to Demeter with his last comment, before he continued " Only once he is securely within our walls will we extend the offer." Finishing he glanced at both cats before him, gauging Demeter's reaction to the plan.

Demeter listened to Macavity. Her amber eyes watched his face carefully as he spoke. Demeter may be a new Hench or at least proving her worth here, but she wanted something better then the last time she was here. Her ears flicked when she heard Tugger was injured. She had not been aware he was even here. The small but shapely queen rolled her shoulders back, taking on a lovely presence. She was confident in what she was about to say. "I could bring him here Macavity, especially on the pretense that Tugger is injured, which I hope he is safe now" She made a point to say that, she was not about to lie or pretend to be cold hearted like the Ginger male. "However, I think Gilbert would be safer here, " She sighed, " To be honest his fear of others touching him alone may compel him to come here. Henches don't like to touch eachother. At the yard everyone is constantly touching." She resisted a shudder. Others always tried to touch her, She would arc away or accidently hiss. It was part of the reason others formed their opinion of her. 'Damaged, unsociable, poor thing'. She honestly felt perhaps Gilbert would be safer here. She looked back up at Macavity after a momentary silence. "I believe I could get him here, but I am not bringing him here to be physically assaulted in any way...or emotionally" She hoped Rumpus was right, she hoped Macavity had changed. She would never trust him personally with her own well being, but all she was asking was to stay where she felt she had more control over herself. Maybe...maybe she was colder then she thought.

Prrasha finally returned to the warehouse after her excursion with Coricopat and later her chance meeting with the yard Jellicle leader - Old Deuteronomy. Though her trip with the dark calico almost ended in a disaster, her mood got quiet improved by her meeting with the old tom. Finally she had met the one person she always heard Macavity griping about in frustration or anger or both...
About to open the door to the warehouse and lobby she heard the voices of a conversation, one of them their glorious leader's, the ginger cat himself. She suddenly grinned with an inner malicious glee, now this was just too perfect a closing of the night. Carefully she opened the door and let her shadows quell into the lobby, suffocating what illumination was there with her darkness, when she was sure the door entrance was fully obscured she glided in and made her Cheshire's cat appearance, with only her jade eyes glowing and big grin showing in the darkness at the door. In an eerie she sang:
"Macavity, Macavity, there is no other like Macavity ....and now I could even compare with all the family of our glorious leader I met today. First the silent brother then the outspoken and jovial father. Oh this is fantastic night to be alive and about..."
She Cackled somewhat insane afterward and waited for the effects she would sure receive for such an entrance. She was pretty sure she had interrupted something important and Macavity didn't like that at all.

It came as no surprise to him that Demeter would be concerned about his half-brother, he'd always been fawned over by the tribe. That and the fact that as far as Macavity knew Deme had no reason to harbour any ill will to Tugger, and therefore wouldn't. He'd purposefully not mentioned exactly how his half-brother had been injured, or how unwell he'd looked the last time the ginger tom had seen him. He let out a small snort at the idea of him being safe however, "He will only be safe once he's vacated the warehouse." Mac had little doubt as to where Misto had transported both of his half-siblings. Plus the open season order still in effect.
The reminder of how life had hardly changed in the yard since he'd left it pulled a scowl onto Macavity's face. He'd never quite understood the tribe wide fixation on constant affection and contact. It was among his comforts to him in his tribe, caresses had some intention behind them whether it was pleasure, affirmation or the such. And if one did not welcome the touch, well each cat was free to deal that as they saw fit. He raised a single eyebrow at the golden queen, "It would be rather counter productive to as you phrased it, assault him. What gain would it cause?" He asked rhetorically, barely finishing his sentence before his eyes flicked to the change in the shadows.
Narrowing them slightly he scanned them, looking for movement or for the light of eyes his scowl deepening slightly at the interruption. His tail flicked in agitation until he heard her voice his ear twitching towards the source. Macavity was torn between annoyance at being interrupted, something that was a sure fire way to annoy the ginger cat and intrigued at the fact that Prrasha had apparently interacted with near half his damned family in one day. His scowl twitched slightly attempt to morph into a smirk, "Well it seems a certain kitty has been busy today." Now this could go either very well, or turn into a disaster. Macavity was very aware of that fact. First he could not recall whether Prrasha was part of the tribe when Deme had been, secondly it was no secret that news or talk of his father frustrated and angered him, third was the reaction of the two queens to each other. Quickly his eyes flashed to Demeter, Rumpus hoping to gauge the reactions of the other cats before focusing back on Prrasha. He waited, hoping this did encounter did not blow up in their faces it'd been a trying day.

Demeter raised an elegant eyebrow. Her amber eyes fixated on Macavity's. "Just making sure your hospitality was what it has been rumored lately. " Her low alto keeping that confident tone it had earlier. The black and gold tabby glanced at Rumpus showing that it was he who had brought her here under that information. Demeter was ready to finalize plans on returning to the yard to bring Gilbert to the warehouse when and odd voice hit her ear with an oh to familiar song. It was HER song, HER song with Bombalurina. Demeter's eyes went oddly spiteful, her head snapped quickly towards the direction of the female.
An all black queen slinked into view. Demeter maintained her stance, whipping her tail slightly. She surprisingly already felt invaded. Perhaps this place was her home more then she thought. She listened to this odd queen spout off what she had done and who she had spoken too today. Her....way...of talking was a bit...off for Demeter to understand. She glanced at Rumpus and then back to the odd queen. Demeter only figured she breathed in to much of the lorry exhaust in town. Demeter remained silent, she knew better then to speak out of turn with Macavity. Being a past mate, she knew the disciplines. She waited to see what discipline would befall this queen for interrupting a meeting.

Prrasha produced a sound somewhere between a giggle and a deep rumbling purr as she closed the distant between her and the ginger cat and wrapped herself against him in a real obvious and lewd way before gliding out of anyones reach again. Her gaze under half hooded lashed fixed on Macavity as her tone become much more steel then playful, though never loosing the deep throaty purr.
"Yes, I have been a very busy kitty, though not the way busy I would have wanted or liked. Your quiet brother had paid a price for his association with you, my dear lord, as he was a target of some rough and deadly Jellicle who is gone already. Helping him survive cost me the full use of my arm for a while..."
She showed the bandage her arm was in.
"He, dear Cor-Cori-Coriopat, will have to stay quite some time with that healer out there for him to be able to return under your wings, my lord...so you better don't have a look-see for him around here, cause he won't be."
Prrasha's expression turned into a big knowing grin.
"Your father ... well, I really tried him for some quality time, after all the trouble I had tonight, but he was really evasive, and you, my lord, you know how persuasive I can be when I want something from a tom ... especially that kind of favor."
She winked towards Demeter in a conspiratorial way.
"Macavity here tried several times to escape my charms, but well, I can be pretty insistent ... some call me stubborn and single minded ... they might be right, you know, dearest "
Turning back to Macavity...
"Your father reeked of another female though. One I don't recognize ... nothing to deep, they didn't have a romp, but they have been all over each other."
Again turning towards Demeter, now getting a curious expression on her face. She tilted her head slightly to the side and tapped with a finger against her muzzle.
"Now, do I know you, deary? I am sure I have seen your fur pattern before, but your scent, I don't know, and I am sure I haven't seen you around these fabled halls of our esteemed lord and master."

Rumpus hadn't had time to respond to Demeter or get her underway on her first job, before they got interrupted by Prrasha. He shook his head, she wasn't a hench he normally associated with. On occasion their paths would cross, but they didn't have anything in common to hold a lasting conversation of normal or insane content. He was not amused. This could potentially turn into a disaster, and have Demeter running back to the junkyard. However, if Prrasha did mess up this meeting for Macavity, he found some pleasure and amusement in seeing what Macavity would do to her. He would release his full ire on her, and he'd be there helping, if Macavity allowed him to. Then again, if Demeter wasn't turned away by Prrasha, and could maintain her cool around her, then she'd do just fine in the warehouse.
With a large, and mostly fake smile spreading on his face he spoke. "Ah Prrasha-Wassha. Let me read between the lines. After failing to get an old tom in your bed, you came crawling back? Tch. Prrash...you disappoint me. Seems your charms aren't what they use to be." Rumpus could feel Macavity's frustration at the interruption and the part of him that was physically attracted to the ginger tom. The part of him that had slept with Macavity recently, was the part trying to subtly insult Prrasha to ease Mac's own feelings. However, Rumpus usually wasn't cold by nature, unless the need called for it.
He stepped closer to Macavity, their shoulders touching, hoping his presence and support helped the ginger tom, in any way. Though he dared not gesture in any other way. They had been discreet enough that if Demeter had seen, probably thought nothing of it. But Prrasha would no doubt see any discreet gestures and turn them into something else. "Is there anything else you need of Demeter or myself, Maccy?"
