Jelly looked from one cat to the other sensing the opportunity to get out of the cell slipping through her paws. Inwardly she cursed her own temper in taunting Macavity-that was never a safe thing to do. She cast her mind at the problem, watching the males carefully. What had Mac meant by that 'look' he gave the injured male & the oblique comment? Was this hench one of the ones who liked to abuse healers??Her brilliant eyes narrowed. Well, he'd have his paws full & be in a world of far worse pain if he tried that with Her! With her healing especially, it required a full knowledge of the pain & pleasure centers of the body, & she was a master. With a flick of her paw she could teach anyone a lesson in manners, if not outright respect. She studied Otrox for a moment. She knew looks could be decieving, but he didn't look or smell like a monster. Then she looked at Macavity, he looked perfectly content to let her simply rot here in this cell, & she didn't dare use the escape hatch for fear of putting others in danger. Coming to a decision, she focused again on the large ginger tom. Attempting to keep her voice reasonable, she pitched it low & musical. "Very well, Macavity, since we seem to be at an impasse, I have a proposition for you." Her golden-yellow eyes looked deeply into his. "I will take on the responsibility of the infirmary & the healing duties for your people-temporarily at least. Further, if you can find me a likely apprentice, I will train him/her in the arts of healing. Now, in exchange for my services, I need guarantees for my safety while I am here. In effect I am giving you my word I will not try to escape until you have a viable trained healer of your own. I also need assurances that a safe escort out of the warehouse for any Jellicles found here within the next say 48 hours will be arranged." The little calico knew she was pushing her luck, but she also knew Macavity respected strength. Then she turned to Otrox. "I would be willing to start my duties with you sirrah, but be mindful, I don't suffer fools gladly, & if you tried anything untoward with me-you would be singing soprano for the next week. Do I make myself clear?" she enquired sweetly.

Otrox let his eyes wander to the ceiling. Jelly had the nerve to assume she and Macavity were at even levels when it came to negotiations. ...While Jelly was restrained. She wasn't all that smart, but she had a backbone. He even saw some lines of annoyance that was cleverly hidden on Macavity's face. Lines he remembered the last ten times he had annoyed the ginger tom.
He stood there though, a sigh on his lips and his shoulders slouched. "Me...in need of healing?" He shook his head. He didn't want to be healed and didn't need it. Otrox liked his injuries, not that he was a masochist. It just helped the surly tom to feel alive. "This is just a scratch." His eyes narrowed in her general direction, but his voice called out to Macavity. "Can I be dismissed now?"
His voice had lost his usual charm, now just showing his grumpy 'I want to get the hell out of here' attitude.

[[so sorry this took so long. **** midterms]]
Well it appear he'd be getting both options. He quirked a brow, trying to keep his annoyance under wraps at Jelly's proposition. While he had to admit it was a strategic and rather brave move the way the healer made the proposition served to annoy him. His eyes narrowed slightly and his tail flicked in agitation. "You are at the impasse on your own. Simply having you trapped here is my advantage." He paused. Jelly here was an advantage, although having a trained healer would be a larger one. Well he could see just how much being trapped in a dirty little cell bothered the Jellicle queen.
A smirk tugged at the ginger tom's lips, and the annoyance in him seemed to melt away as a counter offer clicked into place in his head. "This is all I offer; you can take it or not. A room - the one adjacent to the healer's, safetly while in the confines of my warehouse. You may train a healer - whom you must find." That would suit his own needs much better. While it was true Jellylorum's show of strength was impressive the demands made over her position weren't.
The smirk grew at Otrox's question and he let out a small chuckle, "Of course, you were not summoned, you're free to leave at your pleasure." He'd make sure to keep an eye on the tom, while he was often time infuriating Otrox was useful.

Jelly shrugged mentally, philosophically taking the small victory. She had figured she was going too far, but that was part of her strategy. Mac loved to win, & if she could give him a victory then he'd be more amenable to letting her rearrange the situation to suit herself. Then she did something very difficult to her nature. Burning pride still written all over her face, the small queen tried to give in gracefully, allowing the large ginger tom the pleasure of seeing her bend her neck to his will, In her soft cool voice, she answered, "Very well, Macavity, I accept your terms & your will in this matter." She hated giving in, like walking through fire, though & she had a feeling he knew it & reveled in it. She schooled her expression so as not to show how dismayed she felt over the idea of having to find an apprentice in this warren of cats. Other than Cori & Misto, she didn't know anyone here. This was going to be more of a challenge than she thought-not to mention extend her stay by probably months. she thought painfully, aware of how much her sister would likely worry. She calmly acknowledged Otrox's surly request to be gone from here. His grouchy nature didn't phase her, though she felt a pang of regret that he was leaving. . . well, leaving before she could treat him, she thought hastily. It wasn't like she found him attractive or anything. . really. the little butter queen couldn't resist one last look at the rugged tom, before she refocused on Macavity. Trying for submissive, she bowed her head, "When do you wish me to start?" she asked softly.

Otrox stood there watching the scene unfold. Ignoring Macavity's orders, which he tended to do, constantly. He sat down instead of leaving. He was surprised the firecracker became submissive that easily. "Too easy." He spoke under his breath and skeptically. Not truly believing Jelly was going to sit back and suddenly be a "good" girly.

Well that matter was settled, surprisingly well in his favour. Mac mentally smiled to himself, he'd be prepared for much more of a fight on Jelly's apparent conditions thinking she'd try a little harder for all of her demands to be met. It would definitely be interesting how, when and if she would find a cat willing of the position of healer and who would take the time to be trained. The only matter for him now was spreading the word that she was for the time under his protection, that the declared open season did not apply to the butter queen. "You already have."
The ginger tom rolled his eyes at his Hench's actions, first ask to be dismissed and then sits down. Oh there were times he almost wished Otrox was less useful, he'd put up with less of the tom's antics. But when the time came, ultimately Otrox was useful and that was more important to Macavity then the annoyances. "Since you've made yourself comfortable Otrox I trust you'll be able to show Jelly her new room? I do believe you're familiar with the room." He said as the ginger tom took a step away from the current scene. With this matter attended to, there were undoubtedly other happenings in the warehouse requiring his attention.

Otrox was more or less concentrating on the pain he was in, instead of their frisky "house guest" and their "Thinks he's a badass-boss". Though he did hear more orders coming from the Napoleon of Crime, and he noticed the tom getting up and heading away. Probably trying to get away any more comments; comments Otrox knew annoyed others, and most likely Macavity as well.
"Oh, you know I would, your Highness." He called after Macavity before the long-haired tom got too far away. "But you see, this tom who thinks he knows everything, still has the damn keys. Unless you expect me to go Hulk on the cell and bend the bars...Sir." The last word was ALMOST hissed out. But it was obvious to hear his serious side, hidden under his smart-alec comments.

He paused mid step and let the Hench's words sink in for a moment. Then slowly, he lowered the foot that had previously been mid step, slowly back to the ground and turned around back to the scene. Macavity narrowed his eyes slightly, his annoyance levels shooting right back up, his red tail flicking in aggravation and shoulders tensed.
Purposefully Mac strode back to Otrox, currently ignoring Jelly, and bent down to where the tom had sat and roughly grabbed Otrox's jaw and directing it so that they would be facing straight on. "If you bothered to use those eyes you have rather than your loose tongue you'd notice this particular cell has the loose hatch that some poor soul ignored to fix despite a direct order to. I've been assured you do in fact have a brain and I suggest you start using before I find your annoyance outweigh your usefulness. Or I decide to see if Jellylorum's claim that healing involves pain is true or not on you given your current and possible future injuries." Macavity spoke slowly, letting the venom in his coat heavily coat each word as he glared at the other tom. Pausing a moment he released Otrox's jaw and righted himself waiting for a retort from either cat.

Otrox gritted his teeth, as Macavity grabbed his jaw in a tight hold. It was a reasonable hold, and had he not been in a weakened state, it would have only been an uncomfortable and inconvenient position. His eyes were razor's as he stared into Macavity's face. He couldn't respond, because of the grip and the fact that Otrox hadn't been expecting it, but he desperately wanted to. He did of course do the only rebellious thing he could, and matched Macavity's stern gaze with his own.
Though Otrox didn't see this hatch Macavity was talking about, still. But he wasn't going to argue. If he had to, he'd get creative and know the cell door down with the head of some lowly hench. He did wince and a pained whimper fell out of his mouth when Macavity released his hold. However, Otrox did mutter a pathetic 'Yes sir', response. Though the burly muscular tom was still displeased, and by now even Jelly had to see that.

Jelly veiled her face from Mac & shot Otrox an exasperated look. Was the tom trying to get himself killed?? If so, he was going about it the right way, that wasfor sure! Her eyebrow raised in spite of herself at his 'subservient' answer. The little butter queen wasn't buying it. That tom was no more subservient than she was, but it did show he was smart. Mac had never liked being made a fool of & he had a dreadful temper! Her mind cast about frantically for a way to divert Mac's ire, but came up blank. Helplessly, her eyes hooded, she watched the byplay, hoping she wasn't about to see the rugged male ripped apart in front of her.

Seeing as neither Otrox or Jelly seemed to feel the need to continue this further and mildly pleased that Otrox hadn't continued with his annoyance Macavity nodded slightly to himself before once again turning away from the scene and leaving.

'Jackass' was spoken out loud, albeit under his breath, as soon as Macavity was gone. Grimacing, Otrox's eyes glared over at the cell door, though could have been misinterpreted as glaring at Jelly; he was beyond the point of caring at the moment. He gazed at the hatch Macavity seemed so fond of. "You think you can fit your scrawny arse through that thing? And don't get all hot and bothered, I haven't been looking at your behind for long." His paw lightly rubbed at his sore jaw and traced down the cuts along the side of his face and his waist, his attention off of Jelly for the moment. Some of the cuts didn't seem like they had stopped bleeding and he wondered just how deep they had gotten. But some of the other cuts had, which was something.

Jelly snorted as softly as she could. Idiot, she thought affectionately about the rugged tom. "You know, taking on Mac wasn't the smartest thing to do, but it was brave of you I guess." she commented. Worriedly, she watched the blood still oozing from his wounds. Like it or not, he needed help & healing & now that she had been put in charge, he was going to get it!! She rolled her eyes at the 'scrawny arse' comment. "Don't worry rugged warrior," she answered in a wry tone, "You're safe, I promise I won't ravish your handsome body." darn it. she laughed at herself a bit. Now, he'd likely be a lot happier if Bomba were here. She would have him stretched out with her in a heartbeat. Shrugging philosophically, she thought, well, he was stuck with her, instead, now wasn't he. Checking the hatch Mac had been so concerned about--she realized something, No wonder the leader had been so grumpy. Thumping her small fist on the smaller window for a few moments, she found the trick to it, & the whole top part of the door came apart. Swiftly she flowed out of the opening & dropped beside, Otrox. Without waiting for permission, she started examining him, running her small hands over his handsome form, ignoring her own wounds & the throbbing in her head from the blow to her head. "Where are the worst injuries?" she asked professionally.

Otrox did frequently check on Jellylorum, while he inspected his own wounds. Especially when he began to hear her bang on the hatch with her fist until the top came crumbling down in front of him. He gave an acknowledging grunt, but spoke no words. For such a petite and skinny queen, she made such a racket, he thought with a roll of his eyes.
One eyebrow raised at the mention of "his handsome body", but he did not look up from where he was inspecting his waist. His fur bristled when he felt her paws on his body. Talking about things that weren't the safest to do. Touching him?! He was fine with touching in a more intimate setting, or during a fight. But he drew the line at strange , and annoying females that he just met. "What the hell? Get your-"
He was cut off when Jelly touched a spot just below his ribs that he hadn't even realized was sore. A pained groan that he muffled, by gritting his teeth, escaped him. "No where." He replied stubbornly. "Just give me a damn bottle of booze and let me rest, darlin'." His voice was gruff, stubborn and standoff-ish.
It was not going to scare her off, Otrox knew that. But he always made sure everyone else got treated before him. He played it off as though he were too stubborn or didn't need to be treated, and everyone believed his act. "I don't need it." He shrugged her paws off of his body. "I'll escort you to the Healer's den, and then we part ways. Think I need healing? 'Ve dealt with worse. Go find one of the other many henches that are suffering."

Jelly almost grinned as a feeling of deja vu swamped her. Lothario had always been just like that--not wanting to show any weakness, especially to a queen. Jelly rolled her eyes, determined this time to resist falling for a tom who wouldn't want her. Tartly she replied, "Very well, then, if you would be so kind lead me to the infirmary where these mythical injured cats await." The stubborn little queen stood up from her crouch-- then winced, swaying a little, the room starting to spin. "Hmm. . I may need a little assistance myself," she admitted quietly before falling over in a faint. Her exhaustion, stress & injuries finally catching up with her as a small trickle of fresh blood stained her forehead from reinjuring it crawling out of her cell.
