Jelly glowered at Macavity, unwillingly remembering how he'd been sweet to her once. He probably didn't even remember. She remembered vividly-despite not knowing why she'd been so withdrawn, that he'd once found her a restful companion. Despite knowing he was the leader's son, she'd daydreamed a little. She blushed now at the memory of how she'd been so attracted to him-then. Now, it was a whole different lifetime almost. They had both changed beyond measure-with him not for the better! Despite her less than stellar state of health right now, she refused to show weakness, her posture ramrod straight as she confronted her captor. "What do you want of me Macavity? Why was I brought here?" she asked. She was convinced it had to be a mistake of some kind-she wasn't exactly a valuable prize after all.

For a good deal of time now Macavity had made a point to not remember his time with the Jellicles, he found it useless and infuriating. He needed to focus on his own tribe, rather than brooding and seething over his old one; but now with Jelly referencing then memories seemed to pop up rapidly, flashing from one to the next so quickly in his mind that Mac was barely able to register what they were. So instead he simply shoved them all away, compressing them and locking the memories behind a wall. One he only ever breached if a Jellicle came to him wanting to become a Hench. It'd happened several times already.
So it wasn't just the quieter memories that included Jelly that the ginger tom chose not to remember it was pretty much all those memories. And now, sweet was something that he'd pushed far away. Being a sweet leader didn't strengthen his Henches.
And despite Jellylorum's sweet nature Macavity found this quite interesting. He knew she was injured, had heard how she'd been brought in and yet without the knowledge Macavity might have thought that she'd been handled by the alley cats more carefully. Now, with little bit of fire in her this was much more amusing. Leaning his forearms along his side of the little window Mac leaned forward counting on his closer proximity to cause a reaction and gave a simple shrug, "Oh dear sweet Jelly, I didn't bring you here. Apparently some cats wanted my favour and decided to bring me along a little present. You."

Jelly sniffed disdainfully at Mac's 'charm'. "Well, Macavity, we both know I am not your 'dear' anything, nor am I all that sweet." She looked down her nose at him. (quite a feat considering their height difference) He'd better realize he wasn't dealing with the young quiet cat he'd known back then, but a fiery fully-grown queen.
Unaware of how her wild temper lit her face & eyes, she cocked her head, her ears dipping, "I cannot understand why they would do that, but I'm not a 'gift' to be given by anyone other than myself. So if all of this is just a misunderstanding, I'll just be on my way then."
She admitted a lot of this was bravado, & she really didn't think it would work. Mistake or not, Macavity wasn't known for his generosity & from what she remembered, he could be rather possessive. If he thought she was 'his property' or if he'd gain an advantage over keeping her here, then he'd do so without a qualm whether he valued her or not.

"Not my 'dear' anything?" He paused to grin, a small chuckle bubbling up his throat. "I never said you were my dear, just that you are a dear. Plus I highly doubt you've soured in your time in the 'Yard." Oh this was fun. Such a better change of pace than dealing with his tiresome half siblings.
Now he raised an eyebrow at Jelly's words, his brother might be daft enough to believe the kind of thing that just came out of her mouth but Macavity had expected more from the queen. "You surely aren't that daft Jelly, I wouldn't have thought my brother's lack of wit would rub off of you."

Jelly gave Macavity a tart look, & a soft laugh escaped her in spite of herself. "No I really didn't think that would work, but you never know. Stranger things have happened I suppose." She quirked an eyebrow at him her sense of the ridiculous coming to the fore & her eyes softened. "I'm glad you cleared up that 'dear' comment," she said dryly, "I'd hate to think you were actually complimenting me. These cells are too small for that much manure." She also knew better than to comment on his insult to his brother-they'd been feuding since before Tugger could even talk. The only brother who managed to annoy him more, was Munkustrap. She was going to have to watch herself, he was still as charming as ever. She turned away for a moment to pace restlessly, sternly lecturing herself. She wasn't susceptible to any handsome tom, no matter how charismatic. She had to stay focused. The butter calico queen stalked back over to the little window. "So, we're at an impasse I suppose. What are you planning to do with me then, if I may ask?" she asked a bit too sweetly. If he wanted her to be nice, she could at least try it, she supposed.

Well at least one Jellicle seemed to have a brain. It was rather important for a healer in a tribe to have common sense, otherwise a lot of cats probably wouldn't still be around the Junkyard. "Strange things happen often, many go unnoticed deemed as cruel." No doubt seeing Misto had been strange and there'd most likely been an assumption that Mac's renown cruelty had a part to play. Another smirk played on his face, "All for you dear, so affronted at being affiliated with me and mine."
His eyes stayed trained on the butter queen as she started to pace for a couple moments, silently watching her body language and gleaning all of the information he could. Watching the slight tension in her shoulders - she was concentrating on something. "And give a sweat queen a glimpse into the cruel madman's mind? You must know I plan, I've always planned but now there's a whole new dynamic to figure in."He replied without actually saying anything. Although truthfully at this point his only definite plan was keeping her away from the Jellicles - while not thinking much of herself Jelly was an important piece. She was an accomplished and compassionate healer; she was much more vital than Jelly made herself out to be.

Jelly still wasn't sure he wasn't mocking her with all his doubletalk, but she wasn't worried about a few insults at this point. She was getting a tad tired of his speaking without actually saying anything though.
She decided to cut to the chase. Looking at him shrewdly, she smirked. "In other words, my presence was unexpected, & you haven't had enough time to decide my fate yet." Strangely, she wasn't getting a feeling of menace from him. If anything he seemed . . interested? Not in a carnal way of course, but he definitely had something in mind-& knowing Macavity, she probably wouldn't like it.
Resigned for the moment, she searched his face, looking for clues. "All right Macavity, I will play things your way-for now. just keep in mind, I'm not all that sweet anymore. I presume I don't have to worry about your little playmate, Darkstar slitting my throat in my sleep?" She spoke a bit tartly, trying to hide just how tired & hurting she was. The little queen hoped stoutly that the other Jellicles were able to get free & were safe.

((I'm assuming this is ok...? If not I will delete this post.))
Otrox, who had been off to the side, hidden by the darkness, couldn't help but to overhear what had been said. He had remained silent after he woke up from his earlier pain, but he felt the need to make his presence known and quite boisterously so.
"And just when the hell were you ever sweet, firecracker??" He stalked into the room like he was still searching for prey to pounce onto. But the moment he walked into the room and his black body caught the light, all his injuries were visible. 'Painfully' so. Tossing an empty mug to the side, one that most likely had beer (of some kind) in it, he tilted his head slightly. Otrox was in pain, but one look at his face, and you couldn't tell.
Most likely that was the alcohol's influence.
"Unless you're a sleep-runner, then you have no need to fear, Buttercup. Slasher does love a good chase." Eyeing Jellylorum up and down, he tched his tongue. "Bummer." Looking over to his boss, he gave him a stern stare before he gave him an evil sneer. The sneer had no real intent behind it, as Otrox wasn't even thinking anything at that moment. Though he did smell the scent of the Jellicles on her, and knowing his boss, Macavity had to have some scheme in mind. Otrox was a lot smarter then others gave him credit for. "Hey, Red. S'alright if I crash this party?"

Jelly had hit the nail right on the head in her assumption, once again proving that at lest some of the Jellicles had brains and that his brother's lack of wit didn't rub off on those he spent time with. And as of this moment all the ginger tom really knew was that he needed to avoid letting Jelly simply stroll out of the warehouse, and Macavity preferred it if the incessant Jellicles would be gone as well.
About to reply, a movement caught his eye as Otrox came into view. Well this would prove to be interesting, considering his Hench's current state of injury and Jelly's natural compassion. Oh so interesting. His lip quirked slightly, "She's trying to be a firecracker. And by all means, it's not a private party.

Jelly's eyes widened as the new tom came into view. Her first thought was, wow! followed swiftly by the realization that he was injured. She frowned, trying to fight her natural inclination to demand to be let out of the cell so she could tend him-patience may not be her strong suit, but with Macavity, it was better to be prudent. From what little experience she had with the henches so far, they seemed to see injuries as weaknesses & healing as an admission of weakness. She could understand that she supposed-not appreciate it perhaps, but understand it. This tribe, unlike the Jellicles, believed firmly in the power of the strong over the weak. The Jellicles, believed that the strong had a duty to protect & nurture the weak, but the henches obviously believed the weak should be weeded out so the strong could capitalize on the resources. This seemed to be based mainly on the physical strength of course. She marveled at the waste, just because a cat was weak physically, it didn't follow that they were useless to their tribe. A fact Macavity had to know. She looked at him, with these thoughts flickering through her brain swiftly. Was that it? Was Macavity throwing a challenge at her? Knowing her nature as he did, had he figured out that she couldn't resist a gauntlet like this being thrown down in front of her? Probably, aggravating tomcat. She then focused her fiery golden yellow eyes on the newcomer. He was rugged & attractive yes, but she got the feeling there was more to him. There was no way she was going to admit she found him a bit intriguing though. Dryly, she smiled at Otrox, "A pleasure to meet you I'm sure. I'd invite you to tea, but I seem to be out at the moment. Don't worry, Macavity's being facetious; I have never been sweet a day in my life." hmph firecracker indeed! she thought. Deliberately she let her eyes wander down his form, then with more difficulty than she cared to admit, she tore her eyes away & refocused on Mac. "You know Macavity, I can't say I approve of the competency of your healer. Tsk. I was in the infirmary & there were plenty of supplies, but no one to administer them. Of course I highly doubt you need my advice in that area. Darkstar certainly didn't-he was so angry at me for daring to tend a minor wound of his; he's declared a blood-feud. Besides, my healing tends to be rough & somewhat painful at times. Hmm, perhaps I could teach your healer a thing or two as payment for my freedom? We could practice on your friend there-if he thinks he could stand it better than Darkstar could that is." She knew she was now playing with fire, but if they would take the bait, then she could maybe re-train their healer? Show her or him, that healing didn't have to be gentle to be effective. If they could see it as a challenge to their strength-then more cats might be willing to be treated & less likely to die from minor, stupid things. It's not that she wanted Macavity to be stronger, but she couldn't abide the waste of a life. She snorted in mocking amusement. "I can see it now Macavity, your henches bragging: I survived a Jellylorum healing treatment!"

((Lost my previous post, so sorry. This one pales in comparison. >_<))
Otrox slowly approached the side and allowed his upper body to lean up against the wall. He purposely made sure that his body looked alluring, especially for the queen in the cell. Something about her made him want to get under her skin and either kill her or sleep with her. Otrox could spot a healer a mile away and he wasn't sure what it was with him and healers.
Despite the fact that he needed the support of the wall to keep him upright, especially in front of Macavity, he couldn't help but to add in reference to her talking about his condition. "Yeah. Sexy, right?" Otrox made a light dig though the way he said it,...even he wasn't sure if he was trying to insult her by assuming she'd be attracted to him or if he was flirting with her.
Though after her whole speech and spiel about other henches "surviving" her treatments, Otrox rolled his eyes and laughed, darkly. His attention though was quickly back on Macavity. "Well damn. She sounds just as arrogant and pompous as that blow-hard, Rumpus Cat."

[[So sorry this took a while, been packing for my move on tuesday]]
The ginger tom carefully watched Jelly's reaction to Otrox, knowing full well exactly how much of a challenge he'd be to her natural urge to help those who were injured. And Otrox, well was Otrox. As the Jellicle's gaze flickered to him, Macavity smirked hoping to infuriate her further. While he may not have orchestrated this little scene but he'd definitely take advantage of it. He simply let out a little snort at inviting Otrox for tea.
Retrain his healer as payment? If Mac had an active healer at the moment he'd probably consider it - it would be an advantage. But the last one had disappeared, whispers had reached him on what had happened but he wrote them off considering there was nothing definite to them. He knew that disadvantage he was at without a healer, despite the fact that a good deal of his tribe knew some healing due to their histories none of them would be as effective or knowledgeable as Jellylorum. Or someone she traded information with. Bloody Hell. "Hard to teach someone gone."
His internal thought process and cursing was interrupted by a laugh. Despite the negative twist that his thoughts had taken in terms of advantages, Macavity's smirk had stayed firmly in place. "Arrogance, isn't that something associated with us rather than the Jellicles? Or maybe it's common among the Jellicles now here." He grinned at Otrix, focusing on this conversation rather than letting his mind wander back to Rumpus. And blowing. No, Otrox and Jelly were who he needed to have his focus. And his lack of a healer....

((no worries hon, perfectly understandable)) Jelly's eyes narrowed a bit at Otrox's comment, then had to stifle a laugh. Wow, she must be more tired than she thought if she could relax with Macavity & one of his henches right there. She had no illusions at how arrogant & pushy she could be, but Jelly was rather tired of apologizing for her existance-she was who she was. That thought was strangely freeing, she wasn't sure why.
Of course, now really wasn't the time to get all introspective. she thought ruefully. Then again, it wasn't the time to notice how rugged & attractive the injured tom was either. She smirked to herself, then chose to ignore Otrox. . well, for the moment anyway.
The butter colored queen refocused on Macavity. He was up to something naturally, but what? Then her eyes widened. They had no healer?? What had happened to the former one? She wasn't sure she wanted to know. "Tsk, well that was careless of you Macavity-misplacing your healer like that. Dare I ask what happened?"
Jelly was trying not to be concerned over the cats here-they were henches for Cat's sake, Many of them sworn enemies of the Jellicle Tribe! Her concience plagued her however, Many did not equal all. Some of the cats here could go to the devil & she'd tell them how to get there, Darkstar for example. But others. . others had been civil-even kind. Cobalt had rescued her from the alley cats without even knowing who she was, & he'd only attacked Plato because he thought the tom was a threat. Plus he'd stopped when she asked. She hated the thought of the decent cats here struggling along without an advocate-a healer. Someone willing to stand up for them, even against Macavity if need be. Someone. .like herself? Even as the thought introduced itself, she brushed it away. Ludicrous! She was a Jellicle. She didn't belong here. Studiously, she avoided looking at Otrox, trying unsuccessfully to ignore his masculine form & his obvious injuries. "That's too bad, Macavity. Every tribe needs a healer, the Jellicles have five at last count." she taunted softly.

Otrox only shook his head to hide his ridicule, or a scoffing snort at Jelly's words. "Next thing you know, you'll be telling him that I NEED you." His voice was low, and gruff. Both from the strain of the pain he had endured, though thankfully most of his pain was a dull ache, thanks to the booze. Otrox did intend it to sound flirtatious, but he wasn't ashamed to admit that he was also trying to bait her. He always seemed to be drawn to Healers. And he either became attracted to them, or tried beating them to death. Blood, guts and all. This one seemed spunky though; Otrox had always loved a little bit of spice in his life. She'd definitely liven things up around the tribe, if Macavity kept her around. It wasn't his role to question Macavity's motives, but that really had never stopped him in the past.
Why he was still alive and hadn't had his 'rebellious' attitude put in his place yet, was a question he constantly had, but never gave a damn, unless he was drunk. He wasn't quite there yet. Just buzzed. "Not that watching you two banter and trade barbs isn't the highlight of my day, though I am seriously hoping this isn't some weird foreplay to you, Mack, but is there something you need of me? If not, I'm happy to leave the two of you all alone." He winked, in general, to both or one of them; he wasn't sure.

((wrote this out three times, trying to get it right, kinda worked...))
Rather than actually answering Jelly's question Mac simply shrugged, in the past there had been various reasons for healers to disappear and he'd seemed to have stopped keeping track. No doubt at least a couple had managed to aggravate the wrong cat and ended up bloody. Then there were cats who liked to play with the healers, he mentally added with a quick glance at Otrox. Remembering that he once again glanced between his Hench and the Jellicle. "I know but the smartest one is currently here." Mac smirked, even if he kept her locked in a cell simply taking away a well trained healer would hurt the Jellicles.
The ginger tom gave a small snort at Otrox's comment, not at all surprised his mind went to something sexual. "Walking away from a healer? Already had that much to drink?" he quipped, subtly referencing Otrox's penchant for healers. Although he realized that the conversation was now bordering on useless for Macavity, simply turning into barbs as Otrox had pointed out. He either needed a strategic move or to see to the rest of the Warehouse...
