Name: Jemima
Gender: Female
Age: Late teens early twenties
Tribe: Jellicle
Tribe Position: (Tribe Positions are given out by STAFF. Unless a Staff member has previously talked to you about this, DO NOT put anything here.
Family: Father Old Deuteronomy Mother Deceased
Siblings: Munkustrap-Rum Tum Tugger-Macavity-Coricopat-Tantomile Best Friend: Victoria
Appearance:
Jemima is a young, Multi-colored cat with white paws & tummy, black, red & gray patches. She has a fit, athletic body.
Personality: Like Victoria’s passion for dance, Jemima is also an artist only her passion is for music, she finds both solace & beauty in the musical words & sounds. She also has a strong connection to the night & romance-particularly the moon in all it‘s phases. Because of this, she comes across as a dreamer & a little unworldly. She is a little naïve, but she’s not as innocent as she looks.
She also gets very tired of the way people dismiss her as a young idealist (based mainly on her looks) pat her on the head then ignore her opinion. Like her brother Munk, she has both a strong responsible streak & an equally strong streak of compassion. She’d love to take on more responsibility for the tribe, but no one takes her seriously.
She loves all her siblings, (ok it is Much harder with Macavity) & her father, but wishes she had a closer relationship with them. Jemima is a bit spoiled & used to being indulged, but being the youngest of the family sometimes sucks- you end up being either a pet or a dupe.
Faults: Jemima has a blind spot when it comes to her family & (with the exception of Mac) & will lose her temper with anyone who openly criticizes them-particularly her favorite brother, Tugger. As the youngest, she's a bit spoiled & more used to being given what she wants than working for it as a result she can be a little lazy. She can also get a bit arrogant & demanding when she doesn't get her own way, this can cause her to behave in an impulsive & headstrong manner. She has a Tuggerlike streak of vanity when it comes to her music & does not appreciate any criticism in that area. She can also get extremely annoyed when her music gets interupted!
Describing word: Musical
History: Jemima is the youngest daughter of old Deuteronomy (that we know of at this point) she is actually several years younger in fact, than any of her known siblings. Her mother was Deuteronomy’s last mate & she died when Jemima was a small kitten. Jemima doesn’t even know how or why her mother died, as no one wanted to make her sad by discussing it with her. Jemima never lacked for attention though. Most of her siblings took at least a casual interest in the “adorable pet” of the family & some of the matrons positively doted on her-even some of the “old uncles“ constantly petted & indulged the big eyed kitten. Allowing her to grow up-well, that was another matter entirely.
As the baby of the family, she always had the run of the yard-but not beyond that. Anytime she tried to explore the boundaries a bit, well, Someone usually came pounding up to herd the adventurous kitten back to the “safe” areas. One prevailing fear from many, was that Macavity would snatch her & use her against the tribe. There was that one incident while she was still a young kitten, when a strange tom tried to lure her off, but Jelly saw what was happening & beaned him with a teapot-then she called out the protectors-boy did the yard look like an angry wasps nest when That happened!
The result was even tighter watching & all these boundaries which never seemed to stretch or change even when Jemima grew to princess.
Over the years, the one thing that saved her from becoming an unbearable spoiled brat was music. Almost everyone claims credit for discovering her talent, but the truth was, Jemima never remembered a time when music wasn’t the center of her life. Through music, Jemima learned more about the world & other cats. She developed compassion & an insight into other cats that borders on the mystic.
To get a measure of peace & the illusion of privacy, Jemima started enjoying the night. So far the only romance & freedom she’s been able to find is in her music-Hey you try getting romantic with a tom while being watched by at least 5 people-many of them older brothers, at all times-or even worse-having the tom you like, treat you like a kitten!
RP Sample: Jemima watched the other cats as they headed out on a rescue mission wistfully. “So, would you mind if I went with you? I can be a help.”
“No little one, why don’t you head over to the healers den & see if the ladies can use your help?”
“But. . .”
“Come on now, we have work to do, let the adults handle this.” One by one either chucking her under the chin or to add insult to injury, patting her on the head for ‘luck’ the other cats left..
“When will they realize I am Not 5 years old anymore??” she growled. “I am good in an emergency! Well at least I think I am. How am I ever going to Know if they don’t let me!”
Comments: Jemima is often mistaken for being a mystic due to her affiliation with the moon & her insight, but she actually gets her observations, from watching the others. One of the things she doesn't realize is many of the others enjoy her presence & because of her sweet nature, she can sometimes calm even feral cats.
