Name: Tantomile
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Tribe: Jellicle.
Tribe Position: Member
Family: Coricopat - twin brother, Old Deuteronomy - father, Macavity, Rum Tum Tugger, and Munkustrap - half brothers
Appearance: Tantomile is a white/grey based tabby with black and golden highlight stripes. Her body is build like her twin-brother Coricopat rather like a sleep runner. Very slender and long limbs, though she is smaller as her brother. Her eyes are also bright golden and similar to her brother she keeps head fur in a tight bun. If you put next to each other, the only noticeable difference to distinguish between them is the height difference and their gender.
Human Appearance:
Personality: Tantomile is a quiet but open person. Imagine the owner of your favorite esoteric shop next corner. The place where you find all those herbs and trinkets or your favorite incest. She is person who will welcome you into her humble place, offer you a tea, show you the newest stuff she has, while listening to your latest gossip or troubles. She will offer you some cryptic or sagely advice, while already plotting in her mind ow to solve the problem you have presented her. Though she will seldom involve herself directly she will just use what she heard from everyone to get those together who will benefit and solve the problems of each other.
A lot of wisdom and knowledge are the result of what her now no longer present gift has taught her in her younger years, together with what knowledge she could learn from her humans and their wiccan lifestyle. In contrast to her twin-brother she didn't mind the loss of her powers, experience, patience and reading other people by normal means made up for that far enough. It might take longer, but it also was more rewarding and less intrusive to those who sought her out.
Tantomile was very much affected by the change in her brother and finally his desertion of the Jellicles, though she tries to hide the fact very much, especially towards her wayward brother. She understood the reasons for his leaving and distance, especially since her powers stayed longer than his. But in contrast to her, he always relied and used his powers much more than she did and never dealt well wit the loss in her opinion. She cherishes the short times he visits her or when they meet in the streets, but she knows that she has lost him to the darker sides, which griefs her a lot and taints the sweetness of the meetings.
Describing word: Mystic
History: Old Deuteronomy has been rumored to have had many mates throughout his life. It is without a doubt true. Although it is uncertain as to how many mates Deuteronomy took on, and how many kittens he exactly has, there are five of his kittens that are known to exist; Coricopat and Tantomile being two of the five.
Coricopat and Tantomile are the twin kittens of Old Deuteronomy and a queen that went by the name of Halloway. When alive, Halloway was quite the interesting queen to behold. She was an oriental black shorthair with a few orange patches and markings that made her closely resemble a jack-o-lantern. Some were freaked out by her Halloween-ish appearance; however, Old Deuteronomy was intrigued by her and sought to get to know the black queen more.
In a more personal meeting, Old Deuteronomy found out that Halloway wasn’t only intriguing in appearance, but this little lady had more tricks up her sleeve than the average everyday magician. She was a Wicca by nature; born with extraordinary powers and abilities; however, her magic wasn’t the showy type. Halloway was more of a healer of sorts with minor telepathic abilities, and was very in tune with nature, as her twins later turned out to be as well. With every new detail learned concerning the young witch, Old Deuteronomy grew more and more captivated by her.
Not long after their first initial meeting, Old Deuteronomy took Halloway as a mate. Within a season’s time, Halloway became pregnant; however, her body wasn’t coping well with the change. As her twins developed inside her, Halloway weakened, and in her weakened state, she soon grew sick and un able to properly take care of herself. She did all she could to insure that her kittens were healthy, but that was it. Old Deuteronomy found himself worrying over his mate’s health and well being, and although he had numerous mates elsewhere, he frequently visited her.
One morning Old Deuteronomy visited Halloway’s den knowing that her term was almost over in hopes of finding her a bit better than in their previous meetings. He instead walked in on a sight that he hadn’t even begun to expect. Halloway was dead. She had died during child birth; however she had managed to birth both kittens before death came to collect her soul.
Although stricken with grief, Old Deuteronomy buried Halloway, and took his newborn twins to the only safe place he could think of - the Jellicle junkyard. Two seasons before Coricopat and Tantomile’s birth, another one of Deuteronomy’s mates gave birth to a litter of kittens and was devastated by the death of all but one. This queen happened to be the mother of Munkustrap. Still producing milk, she graciously took the twins under her care and helped raise them until they were old enough to fend for themselves.
Just as the twins turned 12, Old Deuteronomy began to notice their similarity towards their deceased mother. He would watch as the twins stared at each other, moved in synchronized motions, and reacted to all sorts of natural causes and developments. They had without a doubt inherited Halloway’s natural talents and gifts, and Deuteronomy wanted nothing more than to see his twins develop them. It was then that Old Deuteronomy brought the twins to a human home he had come across during his travels. The occupants of this home happened to be a young couple whom were practicing Wiccans. Captivated by the kitten’s appearances, the humans took them in as their very own house pets where Tantomile still lives today - Coricopat has moved out.
Once the twins settled into their new abode, they began picking up on their human’s practices and abilities, and in the silent hours of the night, the mystic twins did the same. They never did develop the healing powers their mother once had; however, they did develop stronger telepathic powers than she did, and it seemed that their telepathic abilities only strengthened due to the fact that their was two of them, and not just one.
Tantomile watched with worry, when her brother's powers began to wane and he began to rely more and more on deception to present a front that was no longer true. She could see through the decsption, first by the use of her still working power, later by the knowledge to see the minisclous signs when someone close to you tries to lie. Though she didn't share his view on the importance of their power, she could see how important the special status it granted them was to her brother. Therefore she could understand why he withdrew more and more from their union, while her power remained and his vanished.
After Coricopat finally left the junkyard to seek his fortune elsewhere - Tantomile knew he had joined the Jellicle archfiend, but tried hard to suppress the knowledge - , she had to face the same challenge. It was pure irony, that after her brother couldn't stand to be close to her for her remaining power and had left, that she lost what he envied, too. But in contrast to her twin-brother, Tantomile took her humans' wiccan ways whole heartily. So she took the loss of her powers, which she only ever saw as a tool to practice her beliefs better, just as another test to wisdom by Everlasting Cat. Something she would never question. So she continued in her role as adviser with the means that remained her, knowing that her powers were only a step of the way she must walk in this life. A step that prepared her for the things to come, like every step before.
RP Sample: Tantomile looked up, as the young calico princess stepped hesitantly into her den. She grinned mysteriously at Quickpaw and invited her deeper in, with a soft nod of her head.
"Enter, dear child. You are welcome in my home."
Quickpaw became even smaller if possible. her whole stance spoke of the nervousness and fear she was obviously feeling. She was about to speak hesitantly, when Tantomile continued:
"You are here to learn about the healing powers of certain herbs, child, and I am glad to share this knowledge with you."
Tantomile could see the surprise and fear on Quickpaw's face, as she had taken the words right of her mouth, like she still knew what was going on in the others mind. She had to smile to herself. Tantomile knew that Quickpaw was beginning to learn from Jenny about the healing arts and therefor it was only a matter of time that Jenny would suggest Quickpaw to meet her for her knowledge of certain pants and herbs, but for the young princess it still seemed like she had read her mind.
Comments: Tantomile no longer possesses the mystic powers of her adolescent years. Though the vanished later then the powers of her twin-brother, she also has no special power left.
