With the thrill of the hunt still fresh in her blood Balseraph allowed herself to walk aimlessly for the first time in a long, long time. She had no clue where she was going nor did she care. She wasn’t even making landmarks, she just…roamed.
Eventually she found her way up a fire escape and on to the top of some buildings. Balseraph enjoyed being up in high places. She paused long enough to admire the view. Her nose took in the air and with it came the scent of other cats. Curious, she followed the smell to that side of the building and let her gaze sweep the area.
In the distance she could see them. There were three. They were moving away from the hum of the city though. They looked comfortable together. She could tell right away that there was some level of trust to their movements. Only the grey tom seemed to be paying any actual attention to their surroundings. It only made sense that he seemed to be leading.
Balseraph laid down on the edge of the building and watched the three cats move out. This was interesting to her. They knew the area well. What she didn’t know was, there was a hidden part of her that secretly desired the bond the three shared; it was what caused her to watch them. She just watched from her perch upon the building. She had even forgotten all about the mask she wore. And for once the voices were not nagging at her. She continued to lounge, watching the world through half-slit orange eyes.
