[[AN: In case you didn't know. I will be temping and exiting Stubby, Bomba, and Haversham in this post.]]The caramel-colored Tonkinese tom stared down at Jenny, their height differences heavily pronounced. His ears twitched in agitation, but a relaxed smiled came back onto his face and he sat back down obediently. Rytt had almost made it to safety, but the second he had sat back down, it sounded like the protectors had returned with the group they were all waiting for. But he couldn't ignore the logic to Mini-Jenny, Trent couldn't lug them all to the infirmary on his own; and Stubinz and Haversham weren't the ideal toms for heavylifting. Of course, neither was he. "Alright, you win. But I don't know what you expect me to do with a damsel in distress."She eyed Rytt, before she replied. "Well I expect you not to drop them with those scrawny arms you've got." There was a distinct mumble, but Jenny chose to ignore Rytt's mutterings over how mean she was. She was sure he didn't actually mean it and was joking. However, there'd always be a part of her that was petrified he really did think she was a mean cat. Seeing Haversham goofing around and dancing with Bombalurina, during a time that should be serious, had grounded her enough to get back to the problem on paw. Besides, she knew they'd be better suited to getting her infirmary ready. "Haversham, and Stubby, I need you two to head to the infirmary with Bombalurina." She was fully into her boss-of all the injured and sick cats-mode. And she really hoped her tone of voice conveyed that. "Bombalurina, you're my backup. If you run into Jellylorum on the way, great, but if not then you need to get the beds and the supplies set up and those two clowns can help you.""Clown?" Haversham asked in surprise, all the while still in the small clearing dancing with Bombalurina. He twirled her under his arms and then dipped her. The Grey tom did stop their dance however, when he saw the look Jenny was sending him. "Okay. I can go help Bomba set up." He did look to the entrance, hearing the group getting closer. He didn't want to miss seeing and meeting them, but he assumed he'd meet them eventually, when some or all of them came to the infirmary. Jenny was making an awful big assumption that any of them were injured, but it was better to prepare for the worse and hope for the best. He had a great amount of respect for Jenny, but was of the opinion that she needed to loosen up and have some fun once in a while. The old mystic tom was still playing a melody on his fiddle, an upbeat tun, giving the pair something to actually dance to. When Jenny had told him he was needed to help Bomba in the infirmary, he put his fiddle away. He, too, wanted to stay and help the group when they first arrived, help uplift them. However, Jenny was the boss when it came to the sick and injured. If she thought his services would be more useful aiding Bombalurina, then he wasn't going to argue. "Not now June." Stubby spoke to a bubbly young queen that no one else could see. He slowly got up and made his way over to Bombalurina and Haversham. "As you wish, Jennyanydots."Jenn was a little perturbed by Haversham's antics and his hesitance to leave the area, but she had come to expect some eccentric behavior especially with the older generation. She did blow out some air and groan. "It's Jenn." Jennyanydots was her grandmother. The red buxom queen had been having a good time dancing with Haversham, even if his sudden idea to dance was strange to her. She always felt some annoyance when Jenny would command her, possibly because of her young age or her pretty looks; Bomba couldn't explain her jealousy. But she understood the gravity of the situation and nodded her head. "You got it Jenn. I'll run ahead and get the beds you need and the basic supplies for treating the injured out. Everything will be ready by the time the group makes it to the infirmary. And with Haversham and Stubinz helping me, we'll even have your infirmary neat and clean." She gave Haversham a wink and smirked when Stubinz called Jenn by her full name. "Come on boys, we've got work to do."[EXIT BOMBALURINA, STUBINZ, & HAVERSHAM]The trek back to the junkyard from that slaughterhouse was longer than Munkustrap remembered. But the first time, there hadn't been any injured. He resituated the tom in his arms. He had been one of the lightest toms he'd ever carried, which was troubling, but his weight was still slowing the silver tabby down. Thankfully, they were back at the junkyard, he'd finally be able to set the tom down. Preferably in the infirmary and he hoped one of their healers would be able to mend his wounds. He of course didn't want any of their group to die, but he had to wonder how many had died in that building before he, Grum, and Teazer had paid them a visit. He was leading them and he rounded the corner, entering into their main entrance. It came as a surprise to see Trent, Rytt, and Jenn already there and waiting. They'd still have to bring a few of them to the infirmary, but with Jenn right there, it would save on some time. Rumpleteazer being there, wasn't a surprise though, she was the type to see things through, this situation was no different. And he was happy to see she had escaped the humans with no injuries. "Glad to see you safe Teazer. What happened after you left to provide myself and Grum a distraction?" Munkustrap got right down to business. He needed to know any information Teazer could tell him, no matter how insignificant it might be. How many humans had gone off and chased her, if she had seen any other cats bound or hanging around while she was running, anything at all. He wanted to know if these humans we're going to be an issue in the future (Given his luck, that was almost a guarantee), and how they could better prepare for any of their members getting captured or any house or street cat getting rounded up by this group. All Grum and he had done was rescue the cats that they had heard about being held captive. They had done nothing to shut down their operation. Given enough time, they were bound to jump right back into business and cats would start disappearing again. It was also a long shot, but he wanted to know if Macavity had been part of the activity at all; even if it was just him setting up for other cats to get taken. He doubted Teazer would have seen anything to incriminate Macavity, so a fair estimate of how many humans were involved would have to suffice. Assuming Teazer hadn't been too preoccupied and even got the chance to count the humans that were after her. He sighed, he was overthinking and overanalyzing things. He lightly set the light grey and silver tom down nearby Jenny. He needed to give his muscles a break, and was offering Jenny her first patient.((*Dedz* ))

Grumbuskin broke trhough the uhdrbrush quickly followed by six toms and queens, the scarred older tom sighed, "home again, home again jiggy-jigg! " Grumbuskin smiled at his half a dozen striking toms and queens, "youll find water n food and dens here. safe harboer amung friends." he said queietly his brusk grvevly tone gone. Mukustarap brought up the injured, a case of a rat bite and three badly malnuritioased, and one injured and'unconciuos for a total of ten, not bad considerering.

He'd easily grown used to the sounds of the Junkyard, so it'd been easier to pick out the sounds of multiple cats approaching. A good thing considering the endeavor. The brown tabby stood, unfolding from his seated position in an almost lazy fashion as if this was going to be an unimportant pleasantry. Silently he watched the others stop their impromptu dancing and head off to the infirmary, a trek he'd probably be making while herding or carrying some of the poor rescued souls.
Honestly, Trent didn't know too much regarding the rescue mission. He'd heard of the missing cats, but not the apparent experiments that he was assuming spurred on the small rescue mission. Urgency and agility outweighing numbers. Small liability, but also a high need for the cats to be able to move on their own. A pay off which apparently worked out considering that most of the cats seemed to be managing to travel on their own. Or mostly - he noticed a tom being supported by one of the queen's that were in tow of Grum. Time to be responsible for the heavy lifting apparently.
Still looking relaxed and unruffled Trent moved towards the arriving cats, detouring long enough to snatch up a piece of fish and offer it to Munkustrap as he passed the other tabby, "Have a bite, looks like you could use it 'Straps."
A black tom was struggling to put weight on his right legs, often buckling if any substantial weight or pressure was put on it. He was being supported by a calico queen, a small cat who'd been babbling comforting nonsense. Both wearily eyed the cats they now found themselves surrounded by. Sure they'd been broken out of that awful place but they weren't certain whether this break came with a catch or not. Both watched Trent, who looked far too relaxed to them approach the two. But if he was relaxed then it couldn't be too bad right? Maybe this was a rescue with no ulterior motives. It was a hopeful thought, and now the tabby's almost lazy smile seemed reassuring and the queen stepped aside to let Trent take her place and support the black tom.
Trent easily took the weight of the black tom, he felt underfed and small. A gentle nudge towards his previous seat had the calico queen moving forward too. " Official welcoming party to the 'Yard. Gotcha some food and a devilishly good medic too. Now let's get you off this leg sooner rather than later, otherwise Jenn might start mothering you." He grinned, sending a wink towards Jenn as a half apology for his little jab.

A huge, ecstatic smile had been spreading across Rumpelteazer's face as she saw the rescue party returning. Excitement, and relief that they'd returned safely. True, it wasn't as if she really thought they wouldn't return safely, but...
She'd started walking bouncily towards the group as they approached, grinning at Munkustrap and Grumbuskin, not sure whether she meant to gather them both into a giant bear-hug or-- But she stopped short, smile fading, when she saw how exhausted the two toms looked, and her eyes took in the injured toms, and the rest of the group who may be walking, but they looked not exactly in robust health. No matter how much she'd tried to mentally prepare herself, and with how much she knew and said she knew these rescuees would be in bad shape, nothing prepared her for actually seeing them in person. For a moment, all she could do was stand there staring, not even hearing Munkustrap's question at first.
"Err, wot?" She blinked, turned to Munkustrap and stared at him uncomprehendingly for a moment. Finally she recalled that he'd probably asked for her report, as they'd not seen each other since she'd run off to create the distraction. She dreaded speaking of it, she'd rather forget, but of course it was important for Munk and the others to know anything she could remember. Shaking her head to clear it, she chided herself for being so ridiculous. Here she'd promised herself to be of help in the situation, and all she'd done so far was freak out and behave like an imbecile. No one would trust her to help on rescue missions again if she couldn't keep it together. "The distrac-shun," she answered Munkustrap at last. "Roight. It...all happened a bit fast, but far's I can recall... I knocked some things about, created a commotion, y'know, so's to attract their attention..." She let out a slight giggle, more from nerves than anything, though the humans' behavior had been somewhat amusing now that she thought on it. "Humans're so predictable, y'know. Sure enough, some came along...five er six, maybe? But when I took off, only two came after me. They chased me far's the edge o' the yard...if you'd call what they have around that place a yard..." She shivered, and hurried on, conscious she was probably babbling on longer than Munkustrap wanted. "Then their footsteps stop, an' I heard one say to the othah, 'Don't bother, we've got plenty. Besides, it'll come back.' I'm not sure wot they meant, but... there were little treats scattered here an' there, dishes of food, y'know, an' it struck me that maybe they uses 'em to attract unsuspecting cats." She finished off, feeling she'd babbled long but not shared much of value. "I'm sorry, Munk'tap, that's all I saw an' heard."
A tortoiseshell queen had been staring warily about the place, taking no notice of Trent's "welcome speech" but only wondering how long a respite they'd have before terrible things began happening again... The smell of food did catch her attention, and seeing one of the cats hand Munkustrap a piece of fish gave her a spark of hope that it might be safe to eat. But she scarcely knew how to ask for some. She grasped the paw of her companion, a brown tabby tom, and went up to the silver tabby who seemed to be in charge. However, she turned instead to the queen he was talking to, somehow drawn to a look of friendliness about her. Scarcely knowing what to say, she simply stood and stared as the two talked, waiting to be noticed.
While waiting for Munkustrap's response to her report, Teazer saw two cats approaching from the corner of her eye. Nervously, she turned towards them, trying to smile. "Ahhm...hello, there." She looked down at her paw, remembering the cup of water she still held but had yet to drink from. She held it out to the tortie queen. "Would...y'like some water?"
The queen was reaching out gratefully for the water, when the brown tom beside her pushed the glass away. "Don't touch it," he hissed. "It's probably poisoned."
Teazer looked at Munkustrap in a panic. "I...but..." She'd imagined scared cats, hurt cats, scared cats, but of all the reactions she'd anticipated, she hadn't expected animosity. She stood dumbly, completely at a loss. This is going well...SO well...

The caramel Tonkinese tom stood there awkwardly as he watched the scene unfold. There was no need or use for a comedian, and that's really all he knew how to be. This lot, they were beaten, demoralized and jaded. Scared and injured. Any joking on his part would only mock their trauma and ridicule the experience and pain they all had been through. But taking things seriously? Rytt didn't do that, he couldn't after losing his mate, his son, and Col. Emotional distance and all that. This was not something he was prepared for or could cope with. Jenn had to have known that, and yet she had still demanded he stay there. Pointless, useless. His slick tail twitched from side to side in agitation as he watched the unknown cats filter in. Most of them were still standing and still conscious, but there was one that wasn't and had been laid down beside Jenn. He didn't look too bad off, aside from being all skin and bones (he was much too thin), but Rytt wasn't a healer, and his condition could have been bad; Rytt would just have to wait and see. Rytt stood by helplessly as he watched Jenn work.
Jenn paid little mind to Munkustrap and Rumpleteazer's report. Munk had given her her first patient, and Jenn had to assume as he was the only unconscious one in the group that he was the worst off. She was in the middle of checking his vitals when she heard some commotion and her laser focused mind only picked up on a few words; Poison being among them. With her fingers at the tom's neck, she began to check his pulse and then counted the intervals of his inhaling and exhaling. She'd have to do more extensive tests once she was back at the infirmary, but for now, this would have to do. "It's not poisoned dear." Jenn spoke sweetly, albeit a bit distractedly. Her eyes could only tell her so much, and while her paws felt down his chest and arms for any breaks, she spoke once more. "Does anyone know his name? Or how he could injured? If any of you know what happened to him, it would help me with a more accurate assessment. And I'd be able to heal him more effectively." Jenn wasn't sure if she actually expected an answer. They had been through quite a bit, and if they were talking about poison, then they probably had zero trust for anyone. If the tom was conscious she'd be able to ask him where it hurt, but she figured she'd put him on some herbs to help with the pain as soon as she got him back to the infirmary. She'd have to start somewhere. "Rytt. I'm going to need you to grab him and carry him to the infirmary for me."
Munkustrap listened intently to Rumpleteazer's report, though his eyes did keep drifting back to their group. While he had rescued them, and he wanted to help them, he knew what scared, desperate and defenseless cats could do; especially if they felt they were backed into a corner. He didn't want any of them getting violent. He'd hate to have to kick any of their asses after having saved them, but the protection of his tribe and his tribemates were his first priority. "That was enough, and very helpful Teazer, you have no idea. Thank you." He replied earnestly. There was no connection to Macavity, and Munkustrap wanted to pin him to it so badly, but without evidence, he couldn't say anything except wild speculation. So far, it seemed like the humans grabbed the cats on their own, either physically off the streets or by luring them in with the food and treats that Teazer had mentioned. Munkustrap knew he hadn't stopped anything. He was able to save one group. As soon as they had lured enough cats again, they'd start right back up. Things had only been postponed. He'd have to see if Deuteronomy would approve another mission to the building to try and shut them down for good. If nothing else, he wondered if he could get a hold of Rumpus and see if he'd spread the word on the streets, to warn cats away from the humans base of operations. His attention snapped to Teazer, the young queen and the brown tom pushing the water away, hissing at his tabby friend.
He caught Teazer's look and stepped forward, not quite in front of Teazer, but close enough to ward off the brown tom from thinking about hissing at her again. He gently placed his paw on Teazer's shoulder, before he took the cup out of her paws. He then spared a glance in the direction of the other two, particularly the brown tom. "I promise you, it's not poisoned." His eyes landed on the Tortie queen and he took a gulp of the water to prove his point, before offering the cup back to them. He even made further emphasis on swallowing the water, so they'd know he actually drank it. He hoped that would be enough proof for them that their water wasn't poisoned. He addressed the group. "We have plenty of water for all of you, and food as well. If you'd like, we can taste test the food we have as well if it makes you all feel safer." He did raise an eyebrow up at Trent, counting on the tom to be a trooper and prove their food was non-poisoned as well.
A bloodied siamese tom, though his cuts were superficial at best, had moved forward. He wasn't completely impressed by the silver tabbies act, or the tiger queen on the ground's commanding tone. She didn't know a single one of them and was already expecting them to heel to her bossy commands. However, he was satisfied that the water at least, was safe to drink. He wasn't going to steal the cup out of Munkustrap's hands and away from two of his group. "You have more water...? Where?" He did give a bit of a sneer down at Jennyanydots and Rytt however. "You can't move him. Just stop touching him. Hasn't he been through enough? And if you're actually a healer, then heal him now. Why do you need us to tell you what's wrong with him?" It was certainly petty, but he had about as much trust in these cats as his brown tabby friend. None. And for all he knew, they were harming the grey and silver longhair tom even further. Though, for some reason, he did drift a bit closer to Trent. There was some sort of vibe the tom gave off that seemed friendlier to him then the others. But he wasn't going to be stupid enough to openly trust someone right away. Never again. He'd lost a dear friend to those butchers, all because some cat on the street told him where to find free food, and they had been desperate enough to trust him. It had cost him his friend and almost his life as well.
Grumbuskin looked disappointed and kept his eyes trained on the siamese. What was it with him and Siamese? "There'll be none of that, son." He knew the tom wasn't going to attack, it'd be foolish to go on the offensive, towards cats that had just saved their lives. Though he of all cats knew their distrust and precaution. It's why he was also being cautious around them, but had not drawn his blade. They weren't a real threat, at least not yet, and he only drew his blade if he intended to draw blood; it was a matter of honor. "If our dear Jennyanydots there says she needs to move his body, then she needs to move his body. She's got better equipment and drugs in her medicine hut and she'll be able to figure out what's wrong with your friend. I know you're worried about him, but if anyone can fix him, ol' Dotty can."
((Almost forgot I was temping Grumbuskin as well. My bad.))

While Trent was mostly supporting the black tom he kept an easy eye and ear on the rest of what was going on. And it seemed like everything was going south, and fast. Welp, apparently it was time to put his charm and ease to work. It was clear that quite the number had been done on them, considering they didn't even trust the food or water - even after he'd literally taken a piece and nicely forced it on Munkustrap to eat. So, calm logic wasn't quick on the uptake right now - good to know.
So black tom and calico queen - currently being reasonable and not tossing accusations. Tortoiseshell seemed hopeful, and brown tom outright hostile. Understandable considering the conditions. "Oh I will gladly pre-test all of the food, been waiting with little to do other than smell it and drool. Thought we'd be considerate and helpful, have it for all of you. But if helpful is "hey Trent take a bite so we know no one is gonna keel over poisoned" sign me up." As he'd spoke, he'd crossed the small distance to where they'd been sitting and waiting earlier. There'd be a few moments with quiet mutterings of "easy", "slow" and "almost got it" as he got the black tom situated comfortably - because it looked like he'd be there a while.
The calico queen hovered as Trent got the black tom situated, surprised and torn. Surprised because they really did seem nice and she was so tired from not being able to eat or sleep right, she simply wasn't sure if there was the energy for suspicion. Torn because the others were right, being too trusting had gotten most of them in this situation in the first place. But would they really bother to help, feed, and heal if they were just going to turn around and lash out? She'd been mentally fretting, a little slow in decided which side to fall on - grateful or suspicious - when a piece of fish with a notable bite missing was placed silently in her paws. Startled her gaze shot up at Trent - still with an easy smile on his face.
The black tom was just thankful to be off of his leg, resting and letting the pain ease as he did. Just focusing on not lashing out in pain and yelling curses he'd missed most of the conversation, shocked back in by the siamese's tone.
Trent stifled a sigh, because well were they expecting Jenn to heal without touching? He wasn't even sure a mystic could manage that. Even so he noticed the tom had drifted closer. His relaxed aura was at it again - and working. Taking a step closer, he very purposefully took a bite of one of the pieces of fish he'd grabbed - already having done the same to two others and giving them to the two he'd settled at their previous seat. As he spoke Trent held the piece out - an olive branch. A delicious olive branch. "Everything is just over there where I got your black friend off his leg. And Jenn is, as I said a devilishly good healer, but she'd can't do anything if she doesn't know what's wrong. And the 'Yard is great but she doesn't have all of her stuff out here. I'll make you a deal yeah? Rytt the wonderful older tom - he's a gem - will help Jenn take your friend to the infirmary. You rest and eat here for a bit and then I can take you to the infirmary and you can see for yourself that nothing but healing and mothering is being done there."
"A lot of work and effort went into getting you all out. Even put our own in danger for you. It'd be a shame for it all to go to waste because you think we poisoned some water and fish."Each time he'd referred to someone, Trent had nodded slightly in their direction.

The tortoiseshell didn't wait to hear any more after seeing Munkustrap drink and hearing Trent's reassurances. It seemed these cats really were here to feed them and take care of their wounded. "Thank you," she said gratefully, taking a glass of water and drinking. "I still can't believe you're going to trust them - just like that," the brown tom shook his head in disbelief. "I'd rather die of poison than starvation," the queen countered.
Rumpelteazer sighed and gave grateful looks to Munkustrap, Grumbus, and Trent as they all stepped forward to help reassure the visitors. She felt foolish for freezing the way she had, when all that was needed here were some kind words. Why hadn't she thought to take a sip of water herself to prove its safety, instead of standing there like a lemming? Stupidly, she felt tears pricking at her eyes, feeling she'd cry from embarrassment the way she had as a kit when she and her brother tried some acrobatic trick but ended up botching it. Blinking hard and shaking her head to get ahold of herself, she nodded along with the others and gave the tortie queen an encouraging smile. "That's righ'," she said, trying to soften her usually-boisterous voice into the calmer tones of a healer. "Yew 'uns needs ta get yer strength up... no'un here wants to harm ya." Looking at the Siamese tom, she declared, "No 'un's a bettah healer than our Jenn, but cats takes time t'get better, see. Given time, yer friend'll be good's new." Confidence building up by the minute, she looked around trying to decide who she could pass some food to next or say an encouraging word to, when out of the corner of her eye she spotted three more cats approaching the group. Her smile widened when she saw it was Alonzo, Misto, and...Well, Victoria! It was a bit of a surprise since Teazer hadn't seen her about the yard in a while, but she'd certainly chosen an apt time to visit. More paws on deck to help reassure the newcomers! What a relief. "'Lo, Mist', Vicki," she greeted. She began to greet Alonzo as well, but he was striding by with the look of a tom on a mission and she let him pass. "Some've our new friends're a bit jittery," she added in a lower voice. "Trent an' Grumb an' me wos just assurin' 'em we means well." She looked appealingly at Grumbus and Trent, before turning her smile back on the newcomers, not wanting them to think they were being discussed.
Seeing Munkustrap's familiar pelt, Alonzo made a beeline for the silver tabby. He hoped his siblings would join in helping the new cats, confident they'd be loads better in that department than he. "Munkus," he greeted. He stopped short of immediately saying "looks like the mission was a success," or some such premature thing. Suppose everyone hadn't been rescued? Suppose one of the rescuees had died along the way and everyone was still downcast from that? So instead, more cautiously, he inquired, "All well?"

(Victoria)
The white queen smiled as she approached Rumpleteazer, hip-bumping her playfully as she settled next to the calico queen. "Hey Teazer," she said in greeting, eyeing over the new felines. They must have been the ones Munku's group had rescued. They looked as if they'd scatter at the slightest noise - poor dears.
"Well, of course we mean well. Once Jenn is done treating them, they should go to Jelly to get something to help the pain." She noticed how the black tom seemed to lean heavily on Trent - he was obviously injured. Her nose scrunched slightly, feeling sorry for the small group of unfortunate cats. At least they got out in time, but by the looks of it, they sustained both physical and mental trauma. Truthfully, she figured they were overwhelmed. Here they were, going from one extreme to the next - heavy side knew being around so many unfamiliar faces (albeit kind faces) was overwhelming.
Remaining by Teazer's side, Victoria smiled at some of the more physically stable newcomers, curtsying in greeting. "My name is Victoria, pleasure to meet you." She figured it was best she kept her distance and leave the healing to the actual healer.
(MISTOFFELEEES)
"Teazer," he said simply, nodding his head in the calico queen's direction as he following Alonzo over to where Munkustrap stood. The small, black magician eyed over the new comers - assessing the damage from a slight distance. A black tom seemed to be leaning heavily on Trent, a siamese tom, an unconscious tom, and a brown tom who seemed to be skeptical of their assistance. The tortoiseshell queen with him seemed to be more eager to accept their help, but relied heavily on the brown tom. Part of him wanted to go over to the queen and take her mind off of things with a little magic, but, the brown tom she was with seemed nervous enough, and he figured his magic would only make matters worse - at least for now.
His brown eyes swept back towards his brother and the silver tabby, listening quietly as they spoke. "Afternoon, Munku." he chimed in, though he kept slightly behind Alonzo, letting his brother get whatever information he needed. His arms crossed over his chest and his ears twisted forward. There was a lot going on. Victoria seemed to occupy herself primarily with Teazer, and so he turned his attention back to the brown tom and the torte queen.
"You won't die from either here, trust me." He smiled as softly as he could, extending a paw in their direction. "My name is Mistoffelees. Misto for short. Is there anything I can get for you?"

Rytt came over as soon as Jennyanydots had mentioned his name. He had been drifting, but there were a lot of cats there, a lot was happening and it was hard to really follow everything and everyone. Besides, he was a bit alarmed at the hostility and distrust the newcomers seemed to display. His name being spoken had given him that laser focus and he bent down and scooped the unconscious tom in his arms. He was light, frighteningly so. "You've got it Jenn." Rytt gave Alonzo, Mistoffelees, and Victoria a greeting as he left.
[EXIT RYTT & RAGNVALD]
Jenny looked to the ground. The Siamese tom did have a point and it was something she had been debating. Honestly, the frail tom shouldn't be moved, but she had better equipment to handle his injures back at her medical den. Besides, he had survived the long trek back to the yard, moving him a few more feet shouldn't cause any more damage then what was already done. She couldn't afford to second guess herself, it's what could get others hurt or killed. She gave Rytt a grateful look as he walked away with one of her patients. She did scowl at Grum's use of her full name and the hideous "Dotty" nickname he had pegged her with. Instead, she looked to the group of cats that she had no names for to distract herself. "Alright, who all is injured?" She wanted to get a quick assessment of the newcomers and their ailments before she brought the injured with her to the healers den.
The tattered grey tabby tom still had a paw near his blade, but thankfully it seemed like Jenn, Teazer, Trent and Munkus had everything under control. It wasn't nearly as tense and Grumbuskin didn't think it would turn deadly, but one couldn't give up all their old habits. And being prepared for anything was one habit that had saved Grum on numerous occasions. He was about to say hello to Alonzo when the tom along with Misto and Victoria arrived, but the black and white tom had headed immediately over to Munk. Instead, he gave Mistoffelees and Victoria a respectful nod each. "Hello Mistoffelees, and Victoria. Seems we have quite a few new members." He knew they'd make the group feel welcome, though he wondered if they maybe felt crowded with so many cats surrounding them. It didn't feel right for him to just leave, however. He was one of the ones that had helped rescue the cats, he was going to see it through.
The silver tabby seemed quite content that him making the first move had gotten most of them to trust him, or at least the food. Munkustrap saw the arrival of Alonzo, Misto, and Victoria in the peripheral of his vision. He nodded to Victoria, but wasn't offended when she moved to be with her friend Teazer. "Misto. I trust everything is alright?" He gave Alonzo an awkward pat on the shoulder, having a hard time forming friendships after the death of his best friend; Ryder. "Afternoon, Alonzo. The rescue went as well as can be expected, considering we weren't prepared for this many cats, but Grum, Teazer and got as many as we could out." He spoke softer, so his next words would only be heard by Alonzo himself.
"What we did is only temporary. Those humans will be back in business in no time and a few weeks from now, I think we'll be hearing of cats being kidnapped off once again. I'm also worried this will give Macavity incentive and ambition for another attack. I think we should increase the Protector's patrols and be on the lookout for any Henchcat activity." The last thing they needed was Mack's forces getting brave. When he spoke again, his voice was not held at a whisper. "Hows everything on the homefront? Was there any trouble here while we were away?"

"See, everyone has vouched for our wonderful healers. Personal experience is great for that." He winked at Teazer, good naturedly and almost exaggerated to really drive it home that they meant well. Well it was a good thing that between their words and actions something seemed to be working, because short of the coddling and smothering with affection there wasn't any back up plan that Trent had in mind to try and help convince these cats that they hadn't been dragged from one dangerous situation and right into the next one. That, yes, their words were actually truthful and all that had to be done to get help was to accept it. He gestured towards the calico queen easily "She's got a point there. Slowly starving isn't any kind of fun." For as blase as the statement had been it had also been honest and based on his own experience. Overcrowded shelters weren't the best at keeping everyone fed.
Trent had been much more focused on the cats in current attendence that he didn't notice the approach of three more. Not until Teazer greeted them. Well it wasn't as if he were particularly worried over them but still offered an easy smile in greeting. The lazy kind that curled lips upwards as if by their own accord. "That's a good idea Vic. Though that does usually go better on a full stomach, so definitely eat up." Last sentence spoken directly to the cats that were conscious, and specifically the black tom who nodded and munched on the fish with a bit more determination. Atta boy.
"Want to grab another few cups of water Misto?" Trent asked instead, if they were just getting these cats to accept the help he was willing to bet they weren't about to ask for it outright.

The tortoiseshell queen gave a grateful look towards Trent at his suggestion of fetching more water. Though, eyeing her brown friend, she figured he still wouldn't be quite willing to accept any. "Here, drink some of mine," she told him. The tom made her wait several minutes to make sure the water truly had no ill effects, before finally taking a sip.Rumpelteazer's eyes lit up as the brown tom took a drink of water. Finally some progress! Trying not to get over elated and frighten the newcomers, she grinned over at Trent and Misto. "Good idea! Mist' can get some more cups o' water, an' Vick an' I c'n get yew'uns some fish..." Grabbing a few fish from where the "collection" of food had been placed in preparation, she offered a few to Victoria."What's that?" the brown tom asked suspiciously.Teazer sighed. "Fish, like I said," she told him, holding up the fish and very slowly taking a bite to show him it was all right, as Trent and Munkustrap had suggested. She glanced at Victoria, hoping she'd know to do the same.Alonzo nodded, paying close attention to all that Munkustrap told him of the rescue and his assessment of the overall situation. His heart sank as the silver tabby relayed his suspicion that their solution was only temporary. Of course, it made sense. But now this would mean they'd have to be all the more vigilant to protect against humans and Macavity...
When Munkustrap asked if there had been any "trouble" in his absence, Alonzo hesitated a moment, debating whether to tell Munk of what he'd heard...or thought he'd heard. It had been the slightest noise, and when he looked, there'd been nothing there. For all he knew, it could have been a mouse, or even his brother accidentally knocking over something while practicing magic. He hated the thought of adding more worries for nothing. And yet, if he said nothing, and then something happened... It would be his fault, he would have given no warning.
"Things were quiet, in the main," he answered finally, "but I did think, a few hours ago...there was an odd noise behind one of the rubbish-heaps - didn't strike me as a mouse noise, you understand - and when I went to investigate there was nothing there. It may have been nothing," he added quickly, "but I felt I should warn you in case it may have been an especially stealthy hench spy."((let me know if I said anything confusing or ignored someone...it's been a while! ))

(Mistoffelees)
The tuxedo tom nodded towards Grum in greeting, offering him a small “hello” – though it was hardly a whisper. There was so much going on that he was trying his hardest to figure out who to give his attention to. Blinking at Munkustrap, he nodded. “Oh yes, everything is perfectly fine.”[/b] His response was brief, letting Alonzo take over as he turned his attention to Trent as the tom walked over.
”Oh, of course.” Mistoffelees exited he main square only to come back moments later with a few small cups and bowls filled with water. His arms were full, but he was able to balance them well enough to place them on a crate without spilling them. He then walked over, offering a cup to the tortoiseshell queen who had given hers to the brown tom. ”Here you go, miss. I can get you more should you like.”
(Victoria)
The pearly white queen smiled at Trent as he agreed with her, but quickly turned her attention to Teazer and followed her over to where the fish had been laid out. Thankfully it was fresh – none of that nasty stuff fished out from the docks.
Snapping out a claw, she began dicing one of the fish into smaller pieces, removing the head, tail, and bones. She liked her fish cut into tiny cubes, which is what she had done here, thinking the smaller pieces would be easier to chew. Granted, she wasn’t a fan of her hands smelling like fish, but she’d deal with it for now.
While he seemed to be rather sceptic of the jellicles, Victoria figured she’d try her luck with the brown tom. She tip-toed over, smiling gently as she squatted down in front of the brown tom when her brother got the attention from the tortoiseshell queen he seemed to trust.
”Here you go handsome. Care to try a bite?”

Jenny saw a couple of the newcomers with some scrapes and bumps, but at first glance it was nothing life threatening. She was about to let Munkustrap and the others know she was headed to the infirmary where she was most needed, when a young queen stepped forward. She was holding her arm closely to her chest and she spoke quietly to Jenny. "You hurt your arm?" Jenny asked louder to make sure she had heard the demure queen's words right. A solemn nod was her only response. "Alright honey. Come with me to our infirmary." She looked to the rest of them. "Don't worry, she's in good paws." She walked softly passed the others and gently placed her paw on Munk's arm. "I'll be headed to the infirmary to take care of her and the unconscious tom. If any others need to be treated, don't hesitate to send them my way."
[EXIT JENNYANYDOTS]
"Aww. Lil' Jennyanydot's didn't even say goodbye." Grumbuskin harrumphed, as he moved away. He did eye Munkustrap and Alonzo warily, but he wasn't an official guardian or warrior of the tribe. It was clearly meant to be a private conversation, no doubt about the state of their security. He didn't want to intrude. If they needed him for anything, Munkustrap would let him know. It wouldn't stop him from doing his own patrolling of course, but he wouldn't get in the way of the other Protectors. He let his eyes slant away from Munkustrap and Alonzo and sat beside Trent. "Is there anything I can do?" He assumed Old Deuteronomy had already given his approval for any of them to stay and live there. But even so, preparing dens and escorting them to new dens of their own seemed premature.
Munkustrap was stone silent as he listened to Alonzo. He wasn't dismissive at all and nodded along to Alonzo's update on what had been going on while he was away. "Considering everything that's happened in such a short time from the night of the ball, I wouldn't rule anything out. If you want to follow it up, or if you want me to follow it up, I can." He didn't want to leave anything to chance. He did pat Jenny's paw fondly when he felt it on his arm, before she made her disappearance. "Thank you Alonzo." Munkustrap's attention went to Mistoffelees and Victoria, and noted with some pride that the siblings wasted no time offering help to the group of cats, and had no trouble making them feel welcomed. He could see them befriending the cats quite easily if any of them decided to stick around long enough.
