Tumble noticed teazer and groomed her taking a considerable time doing her head. He mostly ignored the song and decided he would sing for them the girls where done. He lightly licked teazer and purred deeply.

Teazer relaxed as Tumble groomed her head. Thankfully this song wasn't very long, and then maybe they could sing something nicer...
Oswin was really starting to get into it. She didn't know the dance that usually went along with the song, so she started doing some crazy disco-looking moves and almost screamed out the next bit: "He sways his head from side to side with movements like a snake. And when you think he's half-asleep, he's always WIDE AWAKE!!"

the scarlet queens green gold eyes took on a far away gleam as she glanced around as if to catch a glimpse of the elusive tom while crooned counterpoint in a sultry purrr, "Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity He's a fiend in feline shape A monster of depravity You may meet him in a by-street You may see him in the square But when a crime's discovered then Macavity's not there"

Tumble buried his face in teazer's fur and took in her scent,he utterly wanted this song to end. Thinking about macavity and how many of his friends joined him only brought him down. Maybe he would just not sing any more ball songs until he felt better.

Sensing that Tumble felt the same way she did about this song, Teazer patted his head lightly. It was a rather awkward gesture, but she wasn't the greatest at knowing how to comfort or calm others.
Oswin grinned, oblivious to the others' distress. "He's outwardly respectable... They say he cheats at cards! And his footprints are not found in any files of Scotland Yard's!"

the scarlet queen was torn between disappointing the kitten and the distress of her friends. Bomba laid a comforting paw on each of their shoulders before delivering the next lines..... And when the larder's looted Or the jewel cases rifled Or when the milk is missing Or another Peke's been stifled Or the greenhouse glass is broken and the trellis past repair There's the wonder of the thing, Macavity's not there! Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity There never was a cat of such deceitfulness and suavity He always has an alibi and one or two to spare Whatever time the deed took place, Macavity wasn't there!"

Oswin continued, "And they say that all the cats whose wicked deeds are widely known..." She gave Rumpelteazer a meaningful look. "I might mention Mungojerrie--"
Teazer sat up abruptly, accidentally knocking her and Tumble's heads together in the process. "Oi! Listen 'ere, kit, my brovvah ain't got nuffin' ta do wif that rotten scoundrel! An' neither do I! Them rumours is lies - false lies!" She panted, looking around at all of them. Her ears drooped. "I'm sorry... That song... Gets undah me fur. Let's sing somefin' else."

the scarlet queen smoothly curled her long form around Teazer and groomed her comfortingly. "it's all right Teaz, it's all right." she purred soothingly. "I understand hunn, I mean you remember when I first started coming around a there were all those rumors that got started from how my colorin and fur matches his? that was half the reason Deme and I came up with the silly thing! but your right..." she said between licks, then her ears perked. "have you ever heard the one about Delaney's Donkey?"

Tumble jerked back when his head was suddenly bumped into but then realized the situation happening and hugged teazer trying to calm her "It's alright teaze" he said softly and nuzzled her. He lifted her head up so she could look him in his bright green eyes and smiled in a sweet loving way. He nosed the tiger queen and began singing to her softly " Old Deuteronomy's lived a long time He's a cat who has lived many lives in succession He was famous in proverb and famous in rhyme A long while before Queen Victoria's accession
Old Deuteronomy's buried nine wives And more - I am tempted to say ninety-nine And his numerous progeny prospers and thrives And the village is proud of him in his decline
At the sight of that placid and bland physiognomy When he sits in the sun on the vicarage wall
The Oldest Inhabitant croaks Well, of all things, can it be really? Yes! No! Ho! Hi! Oh, my eye! My mind may be wandering, but I confess I believe it is Old Deuteronomy! " he used his deeper voice when he sung looking at teazer the whole time to show that he was there to comfort her.

Bomba leaned over and gave Tumble a rub, she really like the way he was paying attention to Teazer! with a mischievous look in her green gold eyes the scarlet queen said in a soft voice, "I know a few lines to that song that often get left out...Old Deuteronomy sits in the street He sits in the high street on market day The Bullocks may bellow, the sheep they may bleat But the dogs and the herdsmen will turn them away
The cars and the lorries run over the curb And the villagers put up a notice "Road closed" So that nothing untoward may chance to disturb Deuteronomy's rest when he feels so disposed
The digestive repose of that felines gastronomy Must never be broken whatever may befall The Oldest Inhabitant croaks Well, of all things, can it be really? Yes! No! Ho! Hi! Oh, my eye! My mind may be wandering, but I confess I believe it is Old Deuteronomy!"

Tumble continued to smile and even pet teazer a bit as he and bomba finished the song. " Well, of all things, can it be really? Yes! No! Ho! Hi! Oh, my eye!
My legs may be tottery, I must go slow And be careful of Old Deuteronomy ~" he nuzzled her once more to see if she felt any better

Teazer hummed along on the last few lines, and smiled gratefully at Bomba and Tumble. There was no better way to calm down than to think about their gentle, wise leader.
Oswin had paced around during the song, annoyed that they hadn't gotten to finish the Macavity song. When Old Deuteronomy's song ended, she stopped pacing and looked at the three older cats. Her gaze stopped on Rumpelteazer. The queen had got angry at her - she had shouted at her! And for what? Just because of a stupid song? "Say, wassa matter with her, anyway?" Oswin growled. "It's just a song. I had to live in the same building as 'that rotten scoundrel,' but you don't see me screaming at anyone!"

the scarlet queens delicate ears dipped in dismay, "no Kitt we don't, but on the other paw you haven't had folks looking at you like you did something wrong just because of a rumor have you? it's just like I get treated like I'm after every queens tom just because they look at me and flirt back." she said in a very quiet voice, then she reached out to offer the kitten her paw. "she was hurting Kitt that's why she was like that," she said. then her voice took on a slight Irish brogue as she began to sing.... "Now Delaney had a donkey that everyone admired, Tempo'rily lazy and permanently tired A leg at ev'ry corner balancing his head, And a tail to let you know which end he wanted to be fed Riley slyly said "We've underrated it, why not train it?" Then he took a rag They rubbed it, scrubbed it, They oiled and embrocated it, Got it to the post And when the starter dropped his flag There was Riley pushing it, shoving it, shushing it Hogan, Logan and ev'ryone in town lined up Attacking it and shoving it and smacking it They might as well have tried to push the Town Hall down The donkey was eyeing them, Openly defying them Winking, blinking and twisting out of place Riley reversing it, Ev'rybody cursing it The day Delaney's donkey ran the half mile race."

Tumble smiled back at teazer Then at oswin, why was she being such a brat? He sighed and pet the kit on the head " I know you feel like you were cheated from your singing but please understand why this causes her so much discomfort" he let go and sat down "not like you're in a song that makes you sound like a bad person" he looked at bomba when she started singing,he never heard that song but it made him smile anyway.

the scarlet queens eyes began to sparkle and her fur to fluff prettily as she got into the songs rhythm. "The muscles of the mighty never known to flinch, They couldn't budge the donkey a quarter of an inch Delaney lay exhausted, hanging round its throat With a grip just like a Scotchman on a five pound note Starter, Carter, he lined up with the rest of 'em. When it saw them, it was willing then It raced up, braced up, ready for the best of 'em. They started off to cheer it but it changed its mind again There was Riley pushing it, shoving it and shushing it Hogan, Logan and Mary Ann Macgraw, She started poking it, grabbing it and choking it It kicked her in the bustle and it laughed "Hee Haw!" The Whigs, the conservatives, Radical superlatives Libr'rals and Tories, They hurried to the place Stood there in unity, Helping the community The day Delaney's donkey ran the half mile race."
