((Finally got off my butt to get Cassie back in the game. Sorry took me so long. Anyone join, Puh--leeease!))
Cassandra fiddled with a few blades of grass, as she sat uncomfortably on the tire. She had retreated back to her den for some rest, much needed, and now she felt as though she were missing out on something. Not like it mattered, they all made their point that she wouldn't be wanted nor missed. Her headache was gone, but she still had the distressing thoughts. How she wished she wasn't alone. How she wished she was pleasant enough on the eyes for a tom to...maybe love her...one day. All of which was wishful thinking. What does a high class queen, such as myself, think she can blend in and belong in this junkyard and these street cats, of all places? she miserably thought to herself.

Deianira was strolling through the junkyard when she saw a queen sitting on the tire, looking lonely and sad. "Are you okay," she asked the queen as she wandered over to the tire.

Cassandra nodded her head gracefully,"I suppose it depends on how you define okay." She gave the queen a small smile. "I'm sorry. I'm Cassandra, you are?"

"It's ok, I'm Deianira. Do you wanna talk about it," she asked Cassandra.

Cassandra just sadly shook her head no. Nothing against the queen, but she probably would feel more comfortable around one of her best friends, and talk to them about it. Not someone she just met. "It is really nice to meet you though. What's...you're story? If you don't mind me prying..."

Deianira nodded in understanding. "Well, there's not much to it, actually. My owners left for the city and they couldn't take me with them. So I wandered around for a few months until I found the junkyard," she answered simply.

"I'm sorry..." She was a bit confused, and just had to ask. Already apologizing if this queen had been here longer than a week, and her not noticing before now. "How long have you been in the junkyard?"

"Oh, just a couple months. I've just kept to myself until recently," Deianira answered.

Crap! She made herself more comfortable on the tire, and patted it, just to let the other queen know she was welcome to sit down beside her, if she wanted to. "I really am sorry. Usually I'm pretty good at meeting the new faces that join the jellicles." Just how many more had see not met yet?

Deianira accepted the offer and sat down next to Cassandra. "It's ok. Like I said, I tried to keep to myself as much as I could," she said.

"Guess you're sort of like me. I don't have many friends around here, and..I have been here for years." She did have the few she talked to, but really, she was a pretty private queen.

"Really," Deianira asked, "well..I just have a fear of rejection that tends to keep me from making friends," she added. Deianira didn't really understand why Cassandra didn't have many friends; she seemed nice enough to her.

Cassandra nodded a bit,"I can undersand that. Me, I suppose I'm just naturally a private jellicle." Yeah, that was it, she really didn't talk much about personal things, unless she was with someone she trusted inside and out.

Deianira nodded. She completely understood where the other queen was coming from. "So, I'm assuming that the others mistake your privacy for arrogance," she asked.

Cassandra gazed at Deinara with a weird look on her face. Perhaps this queen and herself would get along much better than she thought they would. Perhaps, they'd become pretty good friends, the queen already seemed to understand her more than most jellicles. Simply, she nodded,"More or less."
